I'd like your opinion on a good virus scan program I can get online for reasonable price that can get rid of virus, worm, trojan, etc. Thanks.

    AVG.

First its free, second its good. I work at a used computer shop and we use this when working on machines in for service or on systems we re-sell.

I've heard from multiple sources I trust that NOD32 is the best you can get. It's what I'm using right now, and it is definitely effective and efficient. It updates more frequently than any antivirus I've used in the past, and it has a small enough "footprint" that I can leave it running while I play most of my games without a considerable drop in performance. The price, however, is not that cheap. It's about what you would explect a good antivirus to cost.

I can also personally recommend AVG, which you can get absolutely free of charge as long as 1) You aren't using a 64-bit version of Windows and 2) it's for personal use only.

I hear very good things about Avast, which you can also get for free, but I didn't personally get very good performance from it. It still might be a good idea to try it and see if you like it.

Every Mac I've ever seen is pretty much used as a constant porn machine. Every hacker slacker is too busy taking the day off to j off to write a virus for the mac because as soon as they get on it and enjoy the virus free porn zone they can't escape. I wrote a book about it.

I use Norton Corporate; that works pretty well. However it's not really cost efficiant.
