So I really like the design of the GBA sp. But I wish it had more capabilities. Meaning it could be used as a portable media player with decent storage.

My ideal system would be a GBA sp, with a 20gb hd. With hard drives getting physically smaller in size, I can see being able to physically fit one in a GBA sp by taking out the gba port, and some casing modification.

    Something that size may work.

The problem is getting something like that to work with the gba and creating software that can run the gba games, play videos, music, etc.

I know they have movie player adaptors with cf and sd card slots for the GBA and ds, but cards are still pretty small in size, and really spendy when you get up to 4gb.

I have no clue how to even start a project like that, or if it could even work, but it is a nice idea.

Other dream modifications to the sp.

    1. x and y buttons for emulation.
    2. an lcd screen on the outer shell that would display track name and number when playing mp3s while closed.

    Ah...a boy can dream.

They don't come in 20gb, like I said before

oh, and another issue is the lack of head phone jack. Forgot about that.

I swear I heard of a micro 20 GB compactflash HDD.

I guess they only go up to 8 GB.

Ya know 8gb may be enough. I could probably fit about 100 albums and 5 hours of video with it. I actually have a DS with a m3 mini adaptor which is cool, but I'm not too fond of the firmware. The DS (even the lite) would be a bit too clunky for my idea pmp.

The question is, how would I move the adaptor so it's not sticking out like a sore thumb on the sp?
