Before messing around with a TF toy or product... Do read the fucking wikia on the page describing the toy for the character...

My 2010 Wreck-Gar's automorph feature almost destroyed the hinges on the handlebar tabs. Hell, I'm glad I caught sight of the wikia page and on my Wreck-Gar's leg. I filed the tabs that on his handlebars to save him from anymore damage... The same day I buy this guy for 2 bucks is the same day his QC issues kick in... Gee....

And miss out on the fun of tard rage? No way!!!

All in all seriousness, what in the hell were they thinking of when it came to the tabs? The hinges are strong enough.

LoL, it worked backwards for me - my Wreckgar was fine - I'd transform him just fine back and forth.

Then I read a website warning me about the handle-bar automorph weakness - and I think "Oh it has an automorph feature?" - and I proceed to snap the handlebar right off. *sigh*.

A hobbyknife and some superglue later, that handlebar's not going anywhere.

I wonder if they actually managed to resolve this issue with Junkheap. I was lucky enough to find three Wreck-Gars at TJ Maxx back in June and trimmed the nubs on the one I have opened. Sadly, that one has a large yellow paint line on the side of the fuselage that wasn't visible in package. I haven't transformed him back anyhow, but I am tempted to get two of each Junkion Hasbro issues and just leave one of each in each mode.

Huh. I had no clue there was an Automorph feature. What is it?

I just manually fold back the handlebars (That's how I broke my 1st one; I didn't know of the nubs. Lukily, TJ Maxx had a second one, so I just returned the broken one and got another).

I... don't break toys. I saw where the Automoprh was taking the handlebars, so I stopped and turned them both in.

It happened to me too on my first one, brought it back to Target for a refund and was more careful with my replacement. Live and learn.

I never have had an issue with the handlebars but then again I don't play with them that much. I always just turn the rubber parts before transforming him. But have only done this twice, once with Scapheap and once with Wreckgar.

I just discovered another potential weak point on my Wreck-Gar... I just noticed one of the horns has broken off. I have no idea when that happened or how, it's just gone.

Thin clear white plastic with sculpted grooves that go all the way round. How the hell was this a good idea again?

Fortunately I had bought a spare carded Wreck-Gar in case the handle hinges break despite cutting off the rubber nubs. Instead, I had to replace his head first.

Be VERY careful when you transform Wreck-Gar back into motorcycle mode. Don't tilt his head back on its ball joint when you flip the head and the piece it rests on back. The first thing to hinder its movement are two small ridges that block... the horns. Whoops.

I wasn't aware of the automorph but have successfully transformed mine a couple of times without any particular problems. I didn't have the instructions either!

I can't remember if I ever move the handlebars manually going into robot mode or not...but now I definitely will.

What has me a little more concerned, however, is that nice stress mark that runs pretty much the whole span between the top and bottom of at least the right hand. I don't know if that was there when I got the toy, or if it happened when I first snapped the axe into the hand and back out again, but now I just stick it in from the top of the hand.
