We know that the Autobots have several characters dedicated to repairs, Ratchet, First Aid ect. They also have a few that can stand in such as Wheeljack and Perceptor even Hot Rod at times but there are no Decepticon equivalents. I guess the gist of it is that the Deceps don't place a high priority on the overall health of their troops. The only cons that I saw in this capacity were the constructicons. I wonder would such character if produced as a toy sell. I mean Cobra actually got Medi-Vipers released a few years ago so why not the Decepticons. My concept of a real Con Doctor would be a hack that may do more harm to a patient than help. Opinions?

In G1, the Constructicons were the predominant Decepticon medics. Especially Hook who's G1 Bio function outright is Surgical Engineer.

Shockwave has also acted as a medic in the occasional fiction.

EDIT: Also, this very same question was asked a little under two years ago.

    decepticon medics? did they exist?.

Flatline is one character that needs to find himself in another continuity.

    Scalpel kind of sucks though.

Flatline all the way, I just wish he'd start popping up in other continuities other than the movie comics.

As mentioned, Glit, Flatline, Scalpel (Animated and Movie), Medicroid, the Medics from DS WFC, Scientists from WFC Premium versions, and the generics on top of Hook and Bombshell. We've also seen Starscream and Soundwave performing repairs, just as you mention Hot Rod.

    Sounds like Scalpel to me.

    Interesting concept….
Other than the one in Bayformers, I don’t know of any Cons in the medical practice.
And to ask for one in “On Going” or that current cartoon knowing their track record would likely lead to some cliché angle were said cons makes some reluctant bot a redcross slave…

But in a perfect G1 world, a high ranking Kevorkian/Hannibal Lector/Mengele type of Con who’s reputation on the battle field was par to the likes of any phase 6er could be epic if written right….(and no not Shockwave!)

Hell a supporting staff would work wonders so why not throw in a couple evil subordinates as well…..a spiteful power hungry Decepticon nurse who’d rather kill a healthy patient than ruin her paint job cauterizing a limb perhaps?

We needs G1 Scalpel and Flatline.

I also consider Scrapper and Bombshell to be sorta medics.

I always considered Shockwave an amalgamation of both scientist and physician. In the G1 comic he practically restored the entire Decepticon force to life who had been kurb stomped by Omega Supreme, cannibalizing Autobot parts to do so.

That said Flatline would be awesome though, I especially like the idea of an Hearse alt mode!

Yeah I was thinking of the G1 continuity mainly. I guess I should have narrowed my focus.

Dr. Arkeville? He may not be a robot but he's an awesome character IMO.

Would Magnificus count? He is the E-Hobby black repaint of G1 Perceptor. I think he would make for a good one.

But basically the Decepticons belief is the strongest shall survive and the wounded should parish. I don't think the Decepticons would give a rats-ass if one of theirs was injured unless it was the big boss. In which case, they'd just kidnap Perceptor like they did in that one episode.

no magnificus was a former decepticon commander(system lord) fallen out of grace turned pit fighter...i would think he has experience fixing/modifying his own systems(since he is out there by him self vs the decepticon world) but probably not at fixing others at a doctor's expertise or skill.

    I agree, the whole "survival of the fittest" deal has been demonstrated numerous times;

-Transformers: The Movie - All the seriously damaged Decepticons (who "coincidentally" happened to be most of the previous year's Decepticon lineup) get tossed out of Astrotrain. Including a still-functioning Megatron.

-Transformers: DS "Decepticons" (The first movie Decepticon version) - At the end of the game, when the player character has been seriously wounded and begs Megatron to be fixed, ol Megsy declares such an act would be a "waste of resources" and finishes off the player character himself.

-Transformers: WFC - In the Soundwave battle, whenever Frenzy/Rumble/Laserbeak go down, SW leaves his shield to lend aid to his fallen minion. Personally, I've always seen Soundwave as kind of a medic in a way. I mean, the dude is quite litteraly a walking computer, you would THINK he'd know a little bit about robot battlefield triage.
