Some sections need to be painted for the first time, others need touch ups. Then I'll give it a light sanding and put on Dullcote. As for the wheels, I just painted with them on. Even in person, up close, you wouldn't be able to tell there was paint on them- the black plastic and the black Krylon are indistinguishable. I have custom stacks/guns I'm working on, and if they look good enough I'll probably make them for OP and UM as well as I really don't like the ugly flat stacks they come with.

Only the wings, guns/missiles, and back of shoulder are done so far. If it weren't for the 600 fucking pins holding him together, he'd be a piece of cake to repaint. The color is "French blue", btw.

Blue Krylon Fusion + extra Cliffjumper + 1:32 scale Corvette = Classics Tracks!

Still have a lot of planning to do on that one. Would be a lot easier if the body types of the cars were similar, but the corvette is longer and lower, so I can't just do a one-for-one swap of car-body parts

If you dont want to bother with the pins on thundercracker, I've found that mold is easier to just hand paint.

I can see re-shelling the 'bee mold as tracks, but how are you going to deal with the extra length, or does it match up better than one would think?

After thinking it over, I think the only pins I'll have to remove are the ones holding on the lower arms and the feet. Everything else I'll just tape off. Still, if I can find a bottle of Tamiya French Blue at my hobbyshop I'll probably pick up for the sections that are annoying to get with the spray.

It doesn't match up, but it isn't too bad. If the front wheels of CJ were just a half centimeter or so further up it would certainly simplify things. I want to change the transform for the legs anyway to be like G1 Tracks because: 1. It would look better (IMO), 2. It would be an homage to G1 Tracks, and 3. It would add a little more uniqueness than it just being a re-shelled Cliffjumper/Bumblebee.

I need to read through some tutorials on re-shelling TFs before I start though, so I have better idea of how to proceed.

Damn, you beat me on the Classics Tracks idea... :sly:

Well, since you vocalized it first, I'll give you credit...

Just, please take plenty of WIP pics, as I, too, didn't have much of a clue how to turn BB/CJ into him...

The more I look it over, the more I realize that I just want to make G1 Tracks, but with a better head and articulation. I might as well have bought an actual G1 Tracks to work with instead of the car model, I'd have 80% of the work already done! Fuck...oh well, I'm going to proceed with it, but I need to think up some stuff to make him unique.

I'm thinking about giving him a Minicon that plugs into the hood to form a hood scoop, and maybe side exhausts that double as his rocket launchers (guns, whatever they were). Maybe changing his white parts to silver- I know color changes are blasphemy, but I always thought that while white looked good on the show, it really washes out any detail he has and looks really bland, like they just didn't finish painting him. I'm gonna see if I can pick up some metal foil and maybe sexy him up a bit.
