I was painting a bunch of stuff and decided I was tired of Knock Out with a maroon chest. So I painted the center stripe and while I was at it I did his rims and his inner neck/shoulder things. Yeah there is more that needs to be done to make him show accurate and I probably will do the robot mode ones in the not to distant future. For car mode the design on his doors is so intricate that I'm just going to wait for Reprolabels hence why I left the maroon on the sides.

The end result of yesterdays painting is probably the second worst repainting/touching up I've done. I am really not very happy with how it turned out.

I love the multiple tone of red, I'v seen some lazier one tone versions. Really nice.

Very nice job inside the fender thing. I tried that but it didn't come out quite as well :/

The rims are rushed and look like crap. The red paint kept trying to dry in the jar and it you can see brush strokes on the figure.

Dude! Knockout is the hardest repaint I've ever attempted! Doesn't hold paint. Shows every brushstroke. Colors look crappy on him for no reason. He is the deluxe from hell! You are not alone.

Well at least I'm not alone.

EDIT: Also painting the insides of his shoulders was a pain in the ass and I did a crappy job of it.

I posted this in the "hidden features" thread, but if you pop the shoulder wheels out, you can peg them back in from the other direction. They don't peg in 100%, but sit at the right angle and makes him that much more screen accurate!

I think they did this on purpose to make us root against him on the show.

If you were curious (or anyone had any suggestions on improvements) here is my crappy attempt. I apologize if this is threadjacking.

    I don't mind thread jacking.

I like the placements of colors you did. The white on the doors looks like a nice interpretation of what Knock Out has. Also painting the windows looks better than I expected and I now wish I had done the same. Oh well, when I do some more I probably will.

Your white paint especially needs more coats though. Also, your rims need some more love.

You're too kind. Thanks for helping me see some good in this. That white paint is just primer, as I ran out of inspiration. But now...yeah, I see that. I think I'll be whitening that region up later. And the rims. Holy god how do you get a brush in there neatly?

Wheel rims aren't too bad to paint you just have to be methodical. Trying to paint the inside of the shoulders is the bitchiest bitch that ever bitched.

It looks good, the maroon really should not have been applied.
