I posted this in a thread on the Classics but it probably will get lost and I wanted to make sure this info got out there. There actually will be an official fiction written for the Classics line. As announced at BotCon, The Collectors Club will be putting out the comic courtesy of Hasbro's own Forest Lee. It will appear in the Collector's Club Mag starting this January. PLUS, it won't stop there, as the pages of the Magazine will have more Classic's goodness. So, time for a quick plug, if you are not a member of the Club now is the perfect time to join. I make an announcement on the front page of the TF Newsletter in the issue that hits the streets November 25th. In it is a quick look at what we will be doing for 2007 in the publication. Plus, two club exclusives on the way soon, the year 3 free give-away toy plus some more exciting things in store for all the members. Wish I could say more, but so much cool stuff in the works. Now really is the time to join!
That....is....awesome. That smiley was made for your post. Hey, and no crying, sign up lol. But seriously, also, if you are going to BotCon and want to get a Primus package, remember, as was the case the last 2 years, it is like getting a membership for free because Club members saved $50 I think for each year. If a membership is $40 you actually saved another $10 on top of that. Not a bad deal.
Will the page count be increased to accomodate the new comic, or will other content be taken out to make room? Also, Pete, is your avatar a silent confirmation of the second club exclusive that's been mentioned?
Sweet! Can't wait! I continue to be impressed at the professional and quality content in the newsletter. Membership has been well worth what I paid for it both of the previous years and I'll certainly pony up again for the third year.
It will still be 6 pages BUT some other stuff is planned in the mag that will expand upon the story as well. Airazor, wasn't she awesome looking in the comic? Hey, shameless plug time. Issue 1 of Timelines has been solicited and will be shipped here to Diamond soon. Should be out I am guessing end of the month, I have not heard the exact street date but it will be posted as soon as it is known. Oh, and the extra content, in a word....sweet!
Step one in the confirmation that my worst fears will be realized and the BotCon exclusives next year will be Classics related. Oh man, this is gonna hurt the old wallet. Well, this will be the first thing the Club's done that really peaked my interest. I was a member the first year and gave up when a GI Joe action figure started getting article space in the few pages alloted to Transformers content. I guess I'm going to have to prepare myself and my finances for what's going to go down next year. I really, REALLY don't want to miss the BotCon they have planned next year either. Just for where it's going to be and the chance to go to the movie with a whole bunch of other Transformers geeks. Lord, this may hurt a LOT.
This is the first time I've thought about joining the club. Depending on how available they make high end movie toys, I might actual hop aboard.
Does this mean the next issue is gonna preview the next free figure? I can't wait to see the next Limb for the set.
Actually If your not in the US the it costs less for a non member Botcon package than it does for membership and a dicsounted package.
so how does the club work...you pay for membership, magazines get shipped out...then they offer toys that only members can buy? or are there free toys shipped out randomly, how much does it cost, anything else i should know?
http://www.transformersclub.com/membership.cfm I've been in the club from the begining and am one of the most active posters on the forum over there. It's a great forum, the club freebies, though there have been only two, just get better, the exclusive figures are coming soon, the club comic features awesome art and a story that seems to just be warming up (and it's already good). I highly reccomend it.
