A problem is that blue doesn't match the darker metallic blue paint Hasbro used on the body. Another problem is its a glossy finish, while Hasbro's paints are typically a matte finish so as to not look too obviously painted next to plastic.

But nice work, either way. I had forgotten Energon Rodimus' head looked like the Datsun brothers!

Looks great! If I see a spare Rodimus sometime I might have to try that.

Actually after a shot of dull-caot the finishes are a match, and the color is as close to identical as I am ever going to get. I have to look at it with a flash, or under a really bright light, to even see a variance.

I did modify rodimus' head a bit by shaving off the "mohawk" to give a more helmeted appearance.

You also added white (which looks good) that is not on the re-issue Smokescreen that is pictured at seibertron.com.

How much dull coat did you use? Just a quick shot? Wouldn't too much make it a flat finish? I usually mix the gloss and flat together to make my own semi-gloss but I don't even know if they make the skyblue in flat.

I just put a real light "dusting" of dullcoat to get rid of the sheen. It was essentially a quick shot from about 36" away.
