I was able to get the Cybertorn repaint for what amounted to free. It's one of my favorite Cyb molds, but the head on the repaint was all wrong. It fit Crosswise great, but it just wasn't Smokescreen to me so I had to do something about it.

I always thought the Energon Rodimus head looked more like the G1 Datsun brothers than Hot Rod, and since I don't like the Energon Deluxe Autos he was an easy victim. After a little sanding down, and painting I think he turned out pretty damn well. I've since added a rubsign to the shield to make him fit in better with the other Classics.

Sorry for the crappy lighting, but it pretty shitty out in the Detroit area and I was too lazy to pull out the lighting.

That's sweet. Got any alt mode pics? Also, what did you do with the rest of the Energon Rodimus? I would be willing to take it off of your hands for ya. It would be an interesting start for a kitbash. Nice work. Peace out.

I didn't take any alt mode pics because it looks just the same as Cyb Smokescreen/Crosswise except the Autobot logo on the top was removed and a rubsign was added.

The Rodimus is in a bag with a bin of b-list/cannon fodder/custom parts bots.

I left my smokescreens head on, but I painted it much the same as you did.

It was Tamiya x-14 Sky Blue, and it is a perfect match with the factory color. The other colors were Tamiya White and Gold Leaf.

It was my first time using Tamiya paints over cheap-o Delta paints. They are FAR better, and have great adhesion. They had a brushaeble primer I tried too.

I was unsure at first about the gold Samurai wing, but I think I am glad I went in that direction than red.

That's cool and it works pretty well. I too felt with a new head Cyb. Smokescreen would be perfect with the Classics guys.

That looks great! He feels much more like Smokescreen now.

I'm too lazy to do a complete head swap like you did, but I did use a gold Roseart marker to make all the yellow on my Smokescreen gold. It looks much better that way.

Sure thing Dave. It was easy enough. Did you ever get a rodimus??? If not he is REAL cheap.

I'm assuming your internet is up. or you have found someone to leach off of. The Lions suck.

Wow thats really cool! Personally I've never been a fan of Crosswise's head mold so that works wonders. Very slick.

This is a great idea. I purchased the Cybertron Smokescreen recolor for the homage but I have started this bash now. (guess I will have to pick up a new Smokescreen so I have an origonal)
I have done a few other changes. I glued the kickpanels to the bottom of the doors and I am also going to paint the ,cyberkey activated, launchers "white", for Smokescreens shoulder launchers. I may also turn the cyberkey slot into a push button.
Finally, I am going to try glueing cotton balls to the weapon missile and paint it to look like smoke.

Just need a #38 for the hood.

Thanks for showing yours off freezowave. I don't think I would have thought of doing this on my own.
