After rewatching operation breakdown I was watching the scene when megatron refused to go after breakdown and Starscream insisted that they should because he was part of a bigger component


Could this be a hint and/or a reference to menasor

 

i thought what he said was that he was a "key player"... i don't really remember though

They did say Combiners will appear so maybe Menasor as the first combiner.

 

Prime Menasor would destroy my pants.

Also, perhaps a Breakdown toy hasn't been shown yet is because he's a part of a...larger toy, maybe. He's the only main cast character not confirmed to have any merchandise, IIRC (Ratchet's deluxe was shown at Botcon but not at SDCC).

EDIT: Actually, Airachnid has no confirmed merchandise either.

Probably not. If Breakdown really was important to any kind of game ending plan Megatron would've wanted him rescued. Starscream probably meant something like key player in their group since except for the main five there's only vehicons and vehicons are freaking pansies.

 

Megatron couldn't take all the Autobots, Knock Out rarely does anything, and Starscream himself is kind of a wuss.

 

True, but the Eradicons/Vehicons are expendable. Starscream wouldn't take flight without them along. 
Also, SS seemed to want to include Breakdown in HIS plans..siding with him against Megs, not really indicating that he was part of Megatrons plans, per se.

 

Most probably almost deffinately no, mostly because that's not what Starscream said. He hinted at Breakdown being part of a bigger operation. Most likely because he's like one of six named Decepticons.
