Hey everyone..Its been a while since Ive done any figures since my TC...between being busy and a bit uninspired focusing on trying to find a job Ive been doing this WIP really slowly...I dont mind though..I knod of like taking my time rather than speeding through and making mistakes..(although Im still making a few).
I picked actually picked up the scout brakedown figure last week, way after I started this, but I realized a bit of similarity between the two. I do like the scout figure though.
This figure as usual is made to be fully transformable without parts forming..its so far mainly composed of 3 junker RID prowl/mach breaker figures, a tftm dropkick and an rotf sideway figure... I was going for making a concept car design..I just finished the rear end of the car, and am kinda stuck on figuring out how to for the alt mode hood. I left a hole in the rear (hatch?) in order to both get the robot mode head through, and also to give it the impression of having the engine visible like in some sports cars. I just wanted to share it with everyone since I really feel like Ive been slacking for a while on the bashing..lol..I dont know when I'll be done with him..but I'll be sure to update if i ever do..
    Thanks

Hey man, it's good to see you around :)  I hope things are going well for ya :)

You have a very engaging project going on! So far, you work looks really great. Right off the bat, I must say I'm curious about the doors. As for the hood, I'd think you'd be able to slice it up and have it transform with the legs. You could also use that hinge that comes on Mach Alert for some of the hood assembly, I'd imagine.

    Definitely keep us updated! :thumb

    Thanks everyone...
SQ7: Thanks, feels good to finally post something again, lol. I was thinking of slicing up a hood..placing a few bits on ball joints just to move out of the way..but the main thing is designing the hood and fender section that fits the style and size.

I like it. You have a few options with the front-end; I'm sure you'll figure out something that works. In regards to the head-hole in the rear bonnet you could maybe place a blower-scoop on a hinge there. It'd cover the hole in car mode and simply rest back there in robot mode. Or you could make a transforming weapons pack ala Lightformers. Hell I don't know - it's your custom, and regardless of what it's gonna end up as - right now it looks great.

This looks great, and the different parts are seamlessly intertwined. Great work.

    Update

    update: 03/20/2010

I decided to try out some different legs, as they would change both the robot mode stance and the alt mode shape..I think these legs while skinnier do allow a bit more freedom in creating the hood of the alt mode car...and that should in turn allow me to bulk up the legs in a more streamline way..

*Plus for all those who care anymore about ROTF sideways..heres a bit of a foot option to switch out those pixie legs...I tried it out on my sideways and it fits fine once you shave a bit away from the balljoints like I did on this figure here..

Also Im no longer going with calling this brakedown...possibly going back to my original idea..(I dont know what that was but..)
The heads just a place holder also..as the modified soundwave head had a socket that was too tight and...snap went to post...so...yeah...
    Thanks

    UPDATE: 03/21/2010
worked last night on figuring out the legs/hood + fender areas...put together the front end..hacked up and rearranged a rotf sideways rear + front end. I like the results..also reworked the rear quarters a bit to become front fenders..The front end is still really rough..I filled in the small gaps in the front end, and just need to sand it all smooth now.

I'll probably try to do a write up when Im all done with the bashing and figuring out the proper stance/proportions.

    Update: 03/??/2010
yeah..not sure what day it is really...
anyway..I finally put the fenders/ front bumper section together..I didn't want to form a huge back pack, so instead sliced the front bumper down the middle, and attached them to the legs via a hinge which allows just enough motion to get the lower sections straightened out..I was hoping for a swivel in there..but there really wasn't enough space.
Working on putting the hood together and then on, and also how to fill those gaps by the doors and fenders...not sure yet, but still working on it.
Thanks for looking, any C&C is welcomed as usual.

I love the way the legs look! I really didn't know if the front of
a car would be long enough for it, but it worked!

At first glance the thumbnail looked like Lockdown to me - but anyways, you're doing a damn fine job on this project. I'm quite sure you'll get results you're looking for. Just keep up the good work. I like this.
