Now many of you have probably heard my craving for a Back to the Future remake by now. Here are my ideas for the roster.

Marty McFly-Shia LeBeouf. He's good at the whole "Cool Nerd" thing.
Doc Brown-Chris Kattan. He can be very eccentric, already has the whole crazy eye thing that Lloyd had, and put him in a white lab coat and a white wig and that would work.
Biff Tannen-Christian Finnegan. He already made the joke in his stand-up that he is the new Biff, so it might work.
George McFly-Andy Samberg. Seems good at the stereotypical 80's nerd like how Crispin Glover was good at the stereotypical 50's nerd.
Lorraine Baines-McFly-Kristen Stewart. By the way, most of this is coming from Adventureland, NOT TWILIGHT. Ok, so she seems to be good at being a good girl, but sometimes be a bad girl.
Mr. Strickland-Derrell Hammond. As you can see there are SNL alum in this. The guy is good at being a jerk-type character, and he kinda looks like James Tolkan.
Lou Caruthers-Tom Wilson. It's nice to have cameos in remakes by members of the original cast.

I'm done for now. You guys can list who you want for what role, and if I like it, I'll list it. The rest for me, is thinking.

Remakes are idiotic tripe & fans should never, ever be put in charge of a project.

If you're a fan, why do you want a remake? And with such awful casting as well?

Had BTTF first been made in the 1950s and was being remade in 1985, I might not have had a problem with this idea - because the '80s were pretty much the last gasp of decent remakes. Today's talent pool of filmmakers (if the word 'talent' is applicable) I wouldn't trust to remake anything worth a crap.

No thanks, IMO I'd rather they just put a digitally remastered version of BTTF in theatres.

Don't worry. It would still be Zemickis and Spielberg.

That isn't exactly very comforting, to be perfectly honest.

Yeah, the original cast were in no way part of the appeal of the films. You can throw in any load of second-rate comedians to take their place and it'll be fine.

Yeah. Pretty much the star of the original was the DeLorean anyway...

The only correct answer is NO. The movies were fine the way they were.

Sir, have you seen the movies? Me and my friend fucking ADORE the series, and we both agree that the dialogue is why these movies became so memorable.
Do you really think that dialogue would be retained in a remake?

Second question, have you even SEEN these movies?

Me and my friend only joke around at the idea of a Back to the Future remake. And one of our jokes was Shia Labeouf as Marty. And Christopher Walken as Doc. Keep in mind we're joking.

I thought a remake was the worst idea ever until I saw your cast list.

Dudes profile says that he is only 13, i'm not sure whether to roll my eyes at clueless youth or feel pity that he's had his movie sense ruined by growing up on the woeful mainstream cinema of this decade.

I don't have a problem with a remake - in principle. I'd have a problem with that cast for sure though.

I'd think a sequel could be done, if it came out in 2015. It would have Marty and Doc wonder "why the hell didn't the future we saw come to fruition"? and have them figure out what went wrong.

This could also be done for a third Bill & Ted movie.
