For our next gallery, we proudly present a look at Takara-Tomy's latest entry into the Transformers Masterpiece series, MP-18 Streak! Streak, better known to Western fans as Bluestreak or Silverstreak, is the a member of the Datsun Fairlady Z trio along with Prowl and Smokescreen. He's the understated one usually, although as this Masterpiece release proves, Streak is every bit as awesome as the other Datsun Autobots.

Streak is, simply put, a joy. He looks excellent in both modes with a fantastic deco and an excellent design. The deco is phenomenal, with the black and the silver both being nice and glossy, and the figure's robot mode perfectly capturing the spirit of the animation design. Streak is a worthy update to the original character and a brilliant addition to the Masterpiece line, building on the strong showing already put forward by Prowl and Sideswipe.

With Smokescreen set to release soon, and Bumblebee and Wheeljack ahead of us in 2014, we're extremely excited for what's coming next in the Masterpiece line. Check out our gallery by SydneyY by opening the link below and see why!

Nice pics... but why does virtually no one ever extend the shoulder canons on either of the Prowl or Bluestreak figures? Is it just a step that's missing from the instructions and people don't know about it?

PS: very nice pic there with the MP, G1, Classics & Alternator iterations.

I was so excited for this guy but I cancelled my preorder when I saw in-hand pictures. Why does the gray plastic look so...plastic. It really kills the figure for me. Does it look that bad in person please someone tell me it's just a camera effect.

It looks like plastic becuase it is plastic. It's the only parts on this toy to not have paint applied to it and that is due to them being parts that would just rub off any paint applied to them as they interact with other parts on the toy.

Personally I don't notice it all too much. Not to any point that i would consider it a bother. Yu are just seeing the contrast between fully gloss painted parts and bare colored plastics

Doing so definitely improves the look of the cannons, to be sure.

It might be a subjective thing, but to me it looks fine. I'd suggest it's just a camera effect, but it is just bare plastic… and painted hands would be awful IMO.

Streak looks great! But I am not sure if I should pick this up or wait for Smokescreen.

On mine and several others', extending the cannons makes them crooked--they won't extend "straight". Also, having such a skinny middle section looks funny. IMHO, they look much better collapsed. "Skinny and crooked" is not a very good look for a heavy weapon.

I just don't get it. I picked up Prowl, and while he's an excellent figure I just can't see myself picking up lesser characters that use the exact same mold. Streak never played a major role in the show, and as a character he's totally forgettable. Wheeljack and BB and hopefully when Jazz is announced will be day 1 purchases, but these guys, I just won't bite.

Some of us don't buy figures because of the 30 min toy ads on tv and instead as adults are more interested in the engineering and design involved.

Ya know, usually I would agree, but I think the "older" fans here (myself included) have such a deep affinity for the '84 bots that we've built them up to be bigger than they were.

Streak is one of the few survivors from a time when my "collection" was just my toys, so I always pick him up (but I definitely feel a little "repaint guilt" when I do!).

Bluestreak has one of the most compelling and interesting bios of all TransFormers.

Agreed, very nice pics but the lack of proper transformation on the cannons is very bothersome.

^Honestly I am not too bothered, but I guess it's because I've got those amazon jp launchers. I'll add more photos when I get a chance.

Just wanted to let you guys know that awesome Streak group shot is taken by Sol Fury - my pathetic collection doesn't include none of other Streak figures
