Yup, I am not to up to snuff on procedures here, mods please move if necessary.

Thanks for the comment, yah, real good flick IMO. I was trying to imagine bots in that film with the darkness and intensity that was there.

I think it was directed by the same guy who made Wanted. I personally thought that 9 could have been a much better movie. It was supposed to be the next big step to making animated movies for adults and it fell flat on its face. I thought the plot and the characters were rather weak. However, it had a good ending. I'd give it a 6.5 out of ten.

I tried so hard to enjoy it but it came up short for me. It was painfully plodding in places.

That's what happened to me. I tried to love this movie, but I just couldn't. It looked amazing, but it just trudged along for me.

I liked it, but wish they would have elaborated on the backstory

I remember watching the previews with my son and we were both very interested.

I saw the first show opening day and was going to take him on Saturday.
Except I wanted to leave halfway through the film.
The whole movie was just clumsy.
I remember a lot of the times the performances of the voice actors just didn't match what was happening on screen.

The animation was slick, but the story left SO much to be desired. The only "number" I even cared about was 5, since everybody else was so painfully generic and only got enough characterization to get a general idea of their personalities.

Personally, I think this movie could have been so much more, but I highly suspect it was hurt bigtime thanks to the desire to have the "9-9-09" launch date gimmick.

It was okay. Looked good, but fell short and suffered from quite a few problems. The original short it's based on is still excellent though.

Wow, I surprised some of the lower reviews here on this. I lost it when they put that record on playing over the rainbow and they all felt like it was over and everything was safe. I had somebody close to my heart die over the summer and that was her song about what she thought of afterlife. I guess it was just personal the way this film moved me.

I kind of looked at it like a life, death, struggling and hope movie in a strange way.

I think a lot of people felt this way, but for me, I just saw it as being from the present perspective. Now, this isn't to say that I'd have opposed more of a backstory to reveal itself, but I understand why the makers might've taken the direction they did.

It was a groovy movie to look at, but it felt like there wasn't really a point to their efforts. I suppose the point was survival, but it didn't feel like they were constantly in danger. I also thought it would've been more powerful if 9 alone survived. Seeing how despite grueling odds and hopelessness of being alone he pressed on.

I love, love, LOVE the Seamstress, the other Beasts, the Fabrication Machine, and the general "junk cobbled together" look, but not much else. Nowhere near the "dark, mature cartoon" it was made out to be.

The original short is fantastic, though.

I saw it in the theater and I have the DVD. It was average for me.

Is the original short part of the DVD special features?
    Where might one find it?
Please, no one violate the board rules.

I think the movie had its flaws and its qualities, you could see there the core of an excellent story, it just wasn't well-done as it could have been, still, I like the movie [specially the Scientist backstory]
