Got this in yesterday....they are just repaints but good to see a Autobot combiner in the bot shots line
I guess I hadn't realized from any previous shots, there is no Superbot in this five-pack? I don't think that's bad necessarily, I just assumed Silverbolt would be one since the leaders from the previous two two-packs were also Superbots.
I think Silverbolt was supposed to be from looking at the animation picture on the box but yeah I didn't realize it either till now. Not sure if the Decepticon set has one or not. I'll be posting pics of the Warpath launcher and the 2 new 3-packs later as I got them in today
Awesome, I need to get this set and the Stunticons, then i'll be done with Bot Shots for awhile again... unless they do a Combaticons set down the road!
They are I think because Wal-mart website had a combaticon bot shot 5 pack. And megs bh was there, and he was discovered true, and so yes, yes we are, i hope
Got my Aerialbots set today. They're decent, but I think the Stunticons worked better overall. Part because the limitation of there being only three jet molds in Bot Shots to work with so far (seeker jet, Jetfire, and Powerglide), and the colors sort of look like they forgot which Aerialbot was which halfway through the process. (probably part of that is so they wouldn't be too similar to previous Bot Shot releases, which were already out in red/white/black/gray the Aeriabots are known for.) My personal prefs (assuming first-year bot shot redecos were the only choices) Silverbolt: same mold (Jetfire), but go with white or off-white rather than the metallic gray. Skydive: Jetfire mold in gray (like BS Silverbolt) with black helmet and arms Firestrike/Fireflight: Already close to perfect, though I might have gone with white deco where this version is silver. Air Raid: Seeker mold in black with white and red robot body: (Hasbro probably thought that would be too Skywarpy) Quickslinger/Slingshot: Powerglide mold, about the same as they did for Air Raid, but with the trademark bright orange face. Hmm, I'll have to see how tough it is to disassemble and reassemble Bot Shots. Some of the things I want could be acheived with some basic swapping and/or painting.
Who is Firestrike a rename of? These look... huh. The Stunticons got away with having reused molds, but when there's only two jet molds, it really doesn't work.
Fireflight. Bot Shots aren't that difficult to disassemble, the only thing you have to watch out for is the springs on the arms and the little latch near the head. If you keep an eye on those two things, they're a piece of cake. These Aerialbots look great. I've never found the jet Bot Shots all that appealing, but something about these color schemes just do it.
Like I said earlier Ive had these onhand for 2 months now, if it's considered "news" Ill post the pictures of all of the other 5 packs if needed.
How many sets are there, and how many have I missed? So far all I've seen at retail is the Autobot Polar Assault Team and the Stunticons. Don't tell me they're doing store-exclusive Bot Shots now... *groans* one of the best points of the line was, OTHER THAN WAVE 5 *clubs Hasbro over collective head* how easy it is to build a complete collection.
If it is a new toy, and we have yet to see in-hand pictures, then yes, it would be newsworthy. They're the only two that have been released so far. This set, and the Decepticon Fire Assault Team, are the next wave, not yet out at US retail but on Hasbro Toy Shop and shipping now. Rumors go that there's a third wave (with Combaticons!)
Per the Wallyworld pages above, Wave 3 is Combaticons and Protectobots. Assuming all Series 1 (read, IMO: "the better") sculpts... Combaticons: -Seeker or Jetfire redeco as Blast Off -Brawl redeco (keep name, or renamed since Movieverse peeled him away from his buddies?) -Another Tanker Megs redeco (Onslaught) -? for Vortex (no choppers yet) -? for Swindle (no Jeep--another Ironhide redeco?) Protectobots: -Prowl/Barricade redeco -Sentinel Prime redeco -Ratchet redeco -? (replacing the motorcycle) -? (replacing the Huey)
