Yeah, its amazing that companies are going back to the 80s for inspiration. I've always wanted a madball but I could never find one in my country! Grumble...mumble...
Madball? Why can't they redo something cooler, like Mask, or Thundercats, or Silverhawks?!!
ive got mad balls, heheh
For a moment I thought you had the toys until I realise that you could mean something else...
In the case of 1 and 3 becasue Hasbro got what they wanted out of Kenner.
The rehashed Thundercats cartoon would lead me to think there will be more Thundercats toys.
I've only heard rumors on this and not facts. Do you have other information?
I'm still waiting for Silverhawks to come out on dvd, I have no clue why it didn't. The series has 65 eps thats enough for 2 or 3 solid sets.
Ah yes, Madballs, I loved those damn things!
I found a red one in my basement a couple of weeks ago... oh the fun I had when I was a kid...
It's not amazing. It's logic. Teach kids to want something that they can't afford, give them twenty years to make piles of money they don't know what to do with, then re-release it. It's not quite that simple, but there's a reason we see so many things from the eighties being brought back right now. Kids from the eighties are grown up, have jobs, and are able to throw down a few extra bucks here and there on things they want, or things they wanted when they were kids.
Not to mention the fact that in a lot of cases, those kids of the eighties are the ones making decisions in the companies that have the power to re-release things like this.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to resuscitate my wallet.
Oh please, I can think of a million different things from the 80s that were cooler than madballs
Madballs? What a waste.
Rereleasing Teddy Ruxpin would have been more nostalgic.
you guys just dont GET the 80's
Yeah, Thundercats is coming out but is much different from the original. Its really aimed for kids from what I understand.
The new Thundercats is going to FREAKIN' RULE IT! A teenager rock band made up of half-cat/half-humans. And Snarf is going to be their old, wizened, wise, brilliant freakin' leader. Unless they dropped that story.
I hope not. Snarfer rules.
heh, I remember those. Guess what my younger brothers are getting for their birthdays.
MASK is a solid enough concept that i'm really surprised we ahven't seen a revival yet ~ maybe it's just too close to GIJoe and Transformers for Hasbro...
Is it even possible to make sacrilege of the Mad Balls?
I remember having the animated premier on bootleg VHS somewhere.
And yeah, MASK needs to return somehow. Storyline -and- toywise it has piles of potential.
