any reason why this mold was never repainted? with Hasbro whoring out Bumblebee one would think we would get at least one repaint out of this guy

Probably because it was rubbish i'd imagine. It did get a 'battle damage' repaint, does that count?

It wasn't the most incredibly screen-accurate movie figure, but I liked it. I would've appreciated an alternate character repaint. It now looks quite different from recent versions of Bumblebee.

It did have that problem where some people broke theirs because they didn't press the button. That may have discouraged Hasbro from reusing it.

I seem to recall a running change whereby Hasbro added a removable sticker highlighting the button that needed pressing. I imagine it hasn't been repainted because he only carried that alt mode for the first third or so of the first movie, and because Chevy are keen to try and promote the new Camaro.

Aside from that stupid Automorph button thing, I really like this mold, more than the original concept Camaro BB mold.

That's probably why it hasn't been repainted as Bumblebee... but it could've been repainted into different characters. As Animated has shown, there's various minibot and throttlebot candidates that could work.

No it didn't. That was the figure from the get go, it came with "battle damage". That is how it appeared in the movie.

Oh, and to answer the OP, it's a piece of shit.

I'm sure this is it right here. Chevy wants the new Camro to be seen everywhere, so it was part of the liscening agreement. Or something. I don't know much about that stuff so of course I can't be positive.

Personally I'd love a repaint of it. I didn't think it was nearly as bad as everyone else did. I didn't break mine, so I guess that could have something to do with it.

Great mold IMO. It had its weak points, but overall it was a fun toy to mess around with and I would love to have it repainted into another mini bot.

I like this mold, aside from that easily-broken automorph feature that afflicted its first few waves. I always sort of hoped it would get a Windcharger repaint; a 70's Camaro with a slender bot mode would suit Windcharger well, and the mold would look good in dark red and grey.

I liked the toy as well. Very surprised it's never been reused, though with the recent trend in battle packs, there might be one there.

I get the feeling though that mechanism is the reason it's never been redone. A toy that breaks if a kid is rough for it is not good for business. Puts people off, fewer repeat customers and all that.

I'd have liked it repainted in blue or green. Stripe optional. New head though.

I would have liked a repaint of that mold. Be a nice refresher from the 20+ repaints/remolds/etc. we've had of the Concept Camaro.

I would've liked to have seen a HA mold of this version of the Camaro.

Absolutely! At least an updated Deluxe version... Built the same way as Battle Blades Bee, but with a '77 Camaro shell!

I would have liked a repaint of this mould - I don't see why it gets so much hate, the only aspect I feel needs improvement are the huge feet.
