I'm amazed it shipped at all.

Not really much of a payoff, though -- it's like one anti-climax after another. Kind of a letdown.

Further proof that Grant Morrison unchecked, in full-on drug-eating "Invisibles" mode, is not really such a good thing once you get past the shock value.

I won't touch anything written by Morrison after his fucking up of the X-Men.

Morrison is one of the better writers in the industry, but yeah when he doesnt have someone telling him to put some of his creative juices in check he tends to get a little out of hand.

I loved his run on JLA. I also liked his X men run. (I know thats not a popular opinion.)

I think the writers did more damage trying to undo his stuff instead of just using the stuff he did and taking the x men in a new direction.

lemme break down morisson's MO for you invisible noobies out there:

    - produce a continuity affecting run on a popular title, with a distinctly alternative vibe.

    - follow with small/independent project featuring stuff thats really out there, on the fringe, which produce either groundbreaking stuff or self indulgent crap.

    - repeat cycle.
