I never really had a good photoshoot taken of this monster, so I just compiled a few pics of toys I used, WIPs and Botcon 2007. This was my 5th kitbash, and will probably be the biggest kitbash I'll ever do. He's based on Unicron's hips, and Primus' han---well, not really:lol

Bruticus took 5 months to design and build. The Combaticons are based on 2-Tonka Mighty Dump trucks(Onslaught), a Barbie Jumbo-jet(Blastoff), a military helicopter(Vortex), an r/c tank(Brawl) an r/c Hummer(Swindle) and a Lego-Bionicle helmet for the head. Everything else was scratch-built. I used the turret motor from the r/c tank and installed it in the head, so you can move the head back and forth by r/c. I also installed a battery-operated display base inside Vortex so his blades turn for display. I even put the 3 disable buttons on his back just in case.

Just about everything went into the making including 2x4s, 4x6s, plywood, basswood, pvc pipe & couplings, styrene, sheetmetal, conduit, flexible gas-line, abs, springs, & various other hardware.

Bruticus stands at 7', weighs 180lbs, 4' wide & 2 feet thick. I designed him to come apart, but not transform. After I was done I broke him down and drove both he and Devastator up to Rhode Island for Botcon 2007. Paramount actually put a 2-second shot of him on the TFTM 2-disc in the special features section covering Botcon 2007 and the history of Transformers titled "Their War" I believe.

The last pic is the autographs of Aaron Archer, Stan Bush, Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci & Robby Musso and Nick Roche of IDW.

For the hardcore collectors interested, Bruticus is for sale...

Awesome. I've always wondered who made the giant Bruticus after watching the special features disk. You should do a proper gallery and submit it to TFW before selling him off (and Devastator too, if you haven't already).

Holy!!! That would barely fit in my house!!! Just out of curiousity, have you considered building a Unicron like this??? Now that would be a "to scale" Unicron!! You do great work!!

Ha ha, I would commission a Unicron, but I certainly wouldn't do it just to do it. I've had Optimus Prime in the back of my mind for a loooong time, though. :ev:

This thing is an absolute MONSTER! I'm a huge Bruticus fan, so this really hits me like a freight train. I love every bit of detail that you put into this and while I wish it could transform, I'm in complete awe over the sheer size of this sucker! Unbelievable work yet again, bro!

You know, as I was building him, I was in fact working each character's transformation out in my mind and how I could pull it off. I go into each project with the possibility that I'll build another....but after 5 months of gruelling non-stop work on just this project alone I got burnt out on it. Then I thought, "ok, if I DID build one that transformed, who would buy it?", and the time it would take to do it wasn't practical...but I really did want to see these jumbo transforming Combaticons become a reality. :(
