1,000 times THIS. jeez, people are gonna be afraid every single day of the year. If some people weren't so afraid to do their research on the topic they'd know that the majority of the mayan elders all say the same thing about the prophecy of this date: something spiritually good will happen. so lets add it all up: This is the new age "aquarius", which is when God manifests his love throughout the world. Nostradomous even pointed out that around this time AND year, would be man's "golden age". and the mayan elders say something good spiritually will happen. it all adds up to a good blessed year, NOT doom and gloom. so can we PLEASE stop with the fear mongering or even joking about this? cuz im not amused.

Good thing nobody was hurt, though it is a strange coincidence.

    I agree.

So does this count as more of an aftershock, related into the Sendai Quake of 2011, or is it another separate event in an area that is undergoing a period of tectonic instability, or just another event along an active tectonic region that happens to be coincidental?

If the first, why the delay and how long can these things last?

If the second, what causes the focus on this particular area, and how long can the instability last?

I wish I was an expert on this kind of things because I just freak out. Christchurch, New Zealand, is quaking again, too. I remember Japanese rescue workers came to help Christchrch, then had to go back almost right away because of Sendai quake.
