6th Grader Sues Dad Over Grounding - And Wins - ParentDish
What is the world coming to?
that is some high quality bulls*it right there my friends......
seriously......what are they trying to do? thanks to that court kids everywhere are going to try this too when they get in trouble cause they are spoiled brats that feel they should do whatever they are.....ugh
That's what happens when you over protect women and children. They forget about their obligations and will always bitch about their rights.
the article didn't include on what grounds she won.... so i'm a little confused... do Canadian courts just rule the way they feel without explaining? what possible reason would they have for intervening in a father punishing his own daughter (who he had custody of)....
Bunch of CRAP!!! As soon as my kid sues me over a punishment and wins....the court can find them a new home. As soon as that happens there is no control over the child.
Yet another reason I never want kids..
Hey, overprotection SUCKS. I never bitch about my rights though, even though I still count as a little girl.
Anyways, what exactly was accomplished by taking your father to court? -.-
Stupid kid. If your parents are hard on you, you get your back by dipping into their wallets on the sly. It's far more productive.
This does not set a good precident.
And THIS but in the past tense (never had them, never really wanted them)
jeezaloopers, if I ever tried that I'd not only still be grounded, I'd still be unable to sit down!
Wow, high quality "What the f**king hell!?" right here.....
I really hope this doesn't lead to any more court cases involving kids suing their parents. Cause that's not right.
Damn media and Hollywood movies.
no. just... no. parents need authority in their own homes, end of story. i could see if the child was abused, but that's clearly not the case. for some stupid reason the legal system is supporting a spoiled brat and there is no need for it. i hope that the supreme court tells the kid to screw off.
It was in Quebec. Which uses a different legal system than the rest of the country.
Quebec. No need to read the article now.
She's apparently doing that, too, if she's able to hire a lawyer on her own.
This is complete crap. I'm keeping my kids away from the Internet so they don't see this story.
Un-friggin-believable. That Judge needs a good hardy spankin'.
thats a big fresh batch of WTF right there
Same here. If the kid won I'd tell the courts that I hereby drop all parental rights and disavow any responsibility. I'd tell the kid good luck with a foster family and finding adoptive parents. If asked why, I'd tell them that they have no respect for me and I have no parental control over them and thus I can no longer be a good parent and that someone else can take over.
