Just got this in from BBTS today and some comments/pictures...

    Comments:

    - Capable of changing into three of the character's four modes. The 'armored car' is the 'official' vehicle form.
    - Transformation is similar to the original figure, but the torso manipulations are highly simplified, due to removal of the beast mode.
    - Bad point - There's no way to hide the pegs in the center of the palms that are used for the 'armored car mode'.
    - Die cast - Burgundy upper arms, areas on torso, blue lower legs.
    - Articulation (robot mode) - Feet tilt down, knee ratchets, universal hip ratchets, neck rotation, universal shoulders, universal elbows, wrist rotation and hinge, wings can be adjusted.
    - Guns flanking the robot head flip out for use in all three modes.
    - I would have liked a hinge to allow the fingers to bend.
    - Nice, tight joints all around. The hip ratchets could be a little tighter, but they aren't floppy or anything.
    - No paint chipping on mine.
    - Some sloppy paint applications on the torso (blue and yellow bleeding into each other).

Overall, I think this is a very nice update of the original figure and one of the better Titaniums (still below Thundercracker, though). Recommended!

Have to get a look at that in person. I'm definitely not a fan of the palm-pegs though.

Those pegs look like they could be cut down a lot without affecting the stability of the ground mode.

Are you by any chance in the mood to take some detailed pics of the robot mode with "X-treme" poses and all that jazz?

I really want to know why they didn't make this Optimal Megatron. It's got the right three modes, where OpOp Primal had a beast mode, and they can't do it as Megs now, since OpMegs had the same colour scheme, just the face distinguishing them :(

For those considering filing down the palm pegs, here's a top-down shot to give an idea of clearance. By my estimate, 1 - 2 cm of peg could probably be removed and still allow the wheel to turn without hitting the thumbs.

    Thanks for the pics :)

This figure looks like it has the best articulation so far in the Titaniums.

I like it! However, I'm still waiting to find the Titaniums that came before him, so it'll probably be a while before I get a hold of him.

    Yeah - looks decent.

How's his head attached? Because then I could make him Op Megs/Op Op at will.

You know, looking at this guy and then looking at Megatron from Wave 1, I can hardly believe they're from the same line.

They've made such tremendous improvements in every line. Optimal here is stable, looks great, can stand up under his own power and includes honest-to-god BALL SOCKET joints!

Yeah.. The past two waves have kicked megs ass big time..

I just picked the two up today. OpOp is pretty good. Far better than megs.

Scourge is very siplistic, but it works. Look at Thundercracker. Simplistic, yet fantastic..

The head's attached to a light grey panel that swings up/down 90 degrees for the transformation. It looks like a piece of plastic on the underside of the head just extends straight through the grey panel, then has a 'flared' end to keep the head attached. The grey panel appears to just clip into a grey plastic housing within the torso. There are a couple of screws in the back of the shoulders that might allow disassembly of the torso, but that's just speculation.

Just got Ti Ti Op Op.

Robot mode is pretty nice. Looks like they were trying to go for a more cartoon-based appearance, since the torso is not dominated by the guns like the original BW toy was. Kinda nice that they can be flipped out and in. The big legs come dangerously close to being too heavy for the hip joints, but only if you're not careful moving them around. Vehicle modes are significantly more lame than the already lame vehicle modes from the BW toy, and no gorilla mode at all. Robot head does not get 'put away' well at all on mine. Maximal symbols would be preferable to Autobot ones, but that can be fixed with stickers. I'm sorely tempted to cut the big pegs off the palms and just forgetting that "car" mode exists at all. (Optimus barely used anything other than Robot or Jet modes more than once or twice in the entire series anyway.)

Overall, it's smoked by the original BW OpOp toy, but Titanium Optimal has a different set of priorities, and is a nice figure on its own merits (mostly just robot mode though)
