...Glad I only swim in the ocean and in the Chesapeake Bay. Rarely do I ever swim in pools or fresh water.

Next thing you know, Jack Thompson will blame video games for encouraging kids to swim in lakes...

Lake Havasu, wow, in my lovely state of Arizona. Good thing I don't go up there, or even to other lakes closer to me.

Funny, my brother parks his boat at my parents' place and it hasn't been close to fresh water in MONTHS.

After doing Infectious Diseases, I don't think I'd ever swim in a lake or drink from a stream.

Fuuuck that. Though it sounds like as long as you don't do cannonballs and keep your head above water, your brain won't get eaten. Still...ain't gonna catch me in no lake anytime soon.

Especially downstream of me. Hey, it is running water!

It is safe to drink the water after boiling it, and sterilizing it.

WHENEVER I go into the water unless it is a private pool I wear ear plugs and a nose clip.

hate to bring you all bad news, but you have a higher chance of being bitten by a shark, stung by a bee, or hit by a car then having a single celled organism pop in and say "hi" to yoru grey matter.

when the spike goe up to over 1000 then its freak out time, not six. till then its oops bad luck got ya.

Wouldn't say that's bad news. And yes it is pretty obvious that these occurances are RARE, but it's still scary. I think just the fact that they exist is scary.

That's...that's just creepy. @___@ Especially since 3 of the cases were here in Florida. I'm never going swimming in any lakes ever again.
