You know, if people hadn't gone ahead & milked the crap out of our "ask arcee/ask airachnid" topics with lame clones, we might've had a venue for carrying this conversation in the Prime forum without completely going off topic.

I love you guys. I really do.

Re: Scotch - My grandpa always had dewars and water with ice, so that what I always had gotten (since college I had dropped the water). Its pretty cheap scotch, so I don't feel too bad about the ice and I like it. When given the opportunity to drink A nicer scotch (right now I have a bottle of dewars 12 year) I go straight up probably 95% of the time, but once in a while I will have it cold, preferably with scotch rocks though I don't always have them available.

The few times I've had nicer or true high end liquors (Johnny Walker Blue OMFG, single barrel Jack Daniels) straight up is THE rule. Because yeah.

People actually have ketchup with a steak? That sounds way weird to me.

I put ketchup on my steak all the time. Especially when I was a kid. I would just drown it in ketchup.

Listened on the way to work. I wish we could've stayed Sunday night to enjoy this night with you guys. As a vegetarian, I'm sure there would've been little for me to order on the menu. But DAMN, I remember reading tweets about that Mac & cheese and it sounds like I would've been just fine with a serving of that :D

    The scotch sounds good too!

Oh man, The Pizza... Chicago... GODLY! There was this one place, their pizza was SO GOOD, however it got me sick. But, it was so good, I'd try it again!

Steak: Medium Rare, or Rare, no sauce, no ketchup.

Pizza: My home made Pizza, w/ dough made by a local Italian place w/ Pizza Sauce imported from Italy, topped with Mozza, then a bit of Onion (sometimes Mushrooms), then LOADED TO THE ROOF with Calabrese Sausage, sliced so thin you can see right through it. Finally topped with ribbons of Gruyere cheese. That Chicago Pizza was delicious though... just wasn't my Pizza ;)

What exactly is the "beef" :D  with A1?

I think I picked up a taste for it on the rare days we got steaks while deployed - anything to improve the taste of those slabs of overcooked meat! It's not bad every now and then, IMO.

It could always be worse than Ketchup. My mom always used to make steak as a kid. Her favorite ingredient: Mrs. Dash. No matter how hard you scrapped it off, it couldn't come off.

Me, I'm more of a stir fry kinda guy. Lean meat, some teriyaki marinade, cut and cook, that sorta thing. Medium Rare, Blue Rare, well marbled, these are things alien to my beef experience, largely. Even when I go for a full steak, it's still by the above guidelines, for the most part.

Vangelus - I would also add a medium rare Prime rib to your list. I first enjoyed one out in Utah while on travel many years ago. It was so good that before the end of the trip I had had three more! All I added to it was a little salt and pepper.

Aaron would not want to dine with my wife and I when she has steak, as she orders her's well done and coats it with A1. Now I'll admit that I do occasionally use some A1 on my steak, but that's mainly for the bits that have been over cooked or burnt. Burnt steak is still steak and I can't say no to steak.

If I have left over steak (esp if it was my wife's) that I'm heating up to make into a sandwich I'll add ketchup or A1 (sometimes both).

A1 makes all steaks taste better, no matter how good they were before. :D
