A great preview - first, the content of the book (looks great!) with early logo design plans, then an OP bio (with funny facial expressions) written by Ultra Magnus, sketches of the bot's transformations, and a great episode guide of Lost and Found, as if written as an apology mail by Lugnut to Megatron... :)

Can't wait to get this... :)

I'm waiting to pre-order it from Ebay, but the seller could not yet give me shipping costs, and I plan to buy 5 (for friends too).

Wow. A solitarium axe? As in "Robot Masters" solitarium?

    That's kickass.

Could you elaborate? What is Solitarium? (haven't really folllowed RM).

I just hope this will have Season 3 designs as well (Strika and team, Dirt Boss, Yoketron, Warpath, Perceptor, Highbrow, all the extra Autobots).

    Awesome! Do want!

I chuckled at seeing Kremzeek on the page with the transformation illustrations.

Content is awesome...but if the pages actually look like this in the book, I'm gonna be an ass here and say the interior design is just as lackluster as the front cover..

Damnit guys, I want a little Animated book that feels like a know-it-all encyclopedia, not a monthly school magazine!

    Regardless, the content looks solid.

I still want this. Totally forgot about it, though.

Oh yes, like I said, content seems good. But I don't just buy something like this for the content..half of it is owning a good looking little book that feels like every drop of passion was poured into it. Keyword is 'feels like'..I am not expecting a Korean sweatshop to spend hours upon hours trying to get the ultimate design, I just would have liked for it to be something more classy, and something more unified. I know it's not a 'movie art book' but for Animated this should be the smaller equivalent.

To me it feels like they didn't try their best putting this together. The cover art is solid artwork, but the idea of the cover itself feels like not much thought was put into it. Just whip up a funny picture and we're done. Same goes for the interior.

Please do note that I have yet to see all pages..so I will definitely browse through it in the comic shop, and I hope most of the book isn't as 'raw' as these pages. But this book has definitely gone from must-have to maybe for me.

I mean no disrespect to the people who worked hard on this, but when I compare this to a book like the More Than Meets The Eye Guidebook, I can see that one has also pretty basic interior design, but it manages to give that little extra flair to the pages without sacrificing readabilty...

Don't want to piss all over everybody's parade, this book does deserve to be picked up.

It's only $20, dude. Who cares if it's formatted like just a book on the inside.

I do. And MTMTE was only 5 dollars more and managed to do it right. I am not expecting them to whip up some crazy interior design that takes years to create, but you can definitely do more with a page than slapping some construction borders on the sides. It could hardly be more work. :)

Same goes for the cover..seeing as the cover has to be drawn, inked and colored anyway, unless the artist suddenly decides to go all crazy with it, a better cover should not take any more time to create than the current one, and it would not look like he came up with the idea while on the toilet.

Like I said, I'm not talking about doing something that is totally different or takes more hours. Just something that says 'quality' a little better. And I hope it is clear that this is all my personal egotastic opinion.

I love how the internetz makes it sound so dramatic, but that's how I feel. Should not be in the way of anyone picking it up, right? :)

If it was a big, hard-covered, professionally crafted, $50 encyclopedia, then I'd expect more out of it.

But at this price, I'm not expecting mind-numbingly specatcular art and splash-panels. I just want info.
