Actually, yeah. "5 faces of Darkness" is, in my opinion, one of the neatest post-movie episodes to come out. Even if it's 5 freakin' parts.
Hard to say honestly I mean it's okay I suppose as a follow-up to the movie.I'd probably like it WAY better if they used a better animation studio.Like the one's used for G1 seasons 1 & 2
Exactly. Writing-wise, Five Faces was pretty damned cool...animation...god it's terrible. I wish the studio that did 'Call of the Primitives' did that five parter. Call of the Primitives is such a terribly written episode, but damn that animation is badass.
Am I the only person who doesn't like the animation in "Call of the Primitives"? It just doesn't look like a proper Transformers episode to me. Anyway, animation aside, "Five Faces of Darkness" is a really good follow-up to the movie and it does an excellent job of establishing the setting for season three. I always liked what happens with Blitzwing at the end, and it's a pity we didn't really see him again afterwards. The charge of the Minibots is also a moment I'm quite fond of.
Oh yeah that it did. Although my MAIN favorite animation style for season 3 was with the episode "Dweller in the Depths" And Grimlock_13,I think this is the first time you and I agreed on a TF related subject
Awesome story, but they should've had Toei or somebody do the animation (and if thats who did the animation... wow, they all must've been on drugs or something when they did it).
Off to top of my head: Dweller in the Depths Dark Awakening The Burden Hardest to Bear There are several others I like (season 3 was my favorite), but I don't remember any other great ones by name. Avoid "Carnage in C Minor", though. By far the worst episode of the entire series.

I gotta say, my favorite S3 animation/art (other than the movie, if you count that) was probably either "Webworld" or "The Ultimate Weapon" (mistransformed Trypticon and Metroplex trying to duke it out kicked all sorts of ass).
Season Three is worth watching as a whole. Some episodes are weaker than others, but even the bad ones should be watched at least once. There's some good scenes in those episodes. The stand outs for me, though, are Dark Awakening and Burden Hardest to Bear. One of the darkest ever episodes, and the true coming of age of Hot Rod / Rodimus.
I have to say, after seeing 'Five faces of Darkness', 'Starscreams Ghost', 'Dark Awakening', 'Webworld' and 'Ghost in the Machine', I definately intend to get the Season 3+4 box-set.
