Looks like Sentinel will be the next one up after Megatron. I was hoping they'd follow with Blackout. Looks like they may be building him onto the same skeleton as prime. I'm sure he'll be amazing.
Wow I can't wait for this! I hope they continue with this line and do guys like Blackout and Lockdown and others. I was bummed when I found out the DMK line was only gonna be Optimus (and one little bee) although I have both their Optimuses and they're both glorious.
They are doing blackout (renders), megatron (full 3d print), and sentinel prime. Scorponok was released recently.
They've also anounced Ironhide. ROTF Prime (a revison on Prime 2.0) will be out next, presumably followed by ROTF Megatron and Sentinel to follow.
Awesome news! Didn't know they had plans for that many kits. Are these gonna be model kits or built figures? Would love for them to do Lockdown.
They come built. The paint is pretty much perfect. I'm not sure I've seen paint done this well elsewhere. (I'm probably forgetting something, but it's exceptional)
Thanks for the info. I loved building and painting my DMK kits but as long as these guys are as detailed and in-scale I'll be happy.
Funny, the face actually looks kind of wrong to me. I've been assuming that when color is added I'll change my mind on that though.
It just looks round and elvish in a way I don't remember Sentinel looking. I think it's a combination of having spent more time looking at my custom leader toy than the on screen version and an optical illusion in terms of where my eye goes because if the absence of color. 4Ever do amazing work. I doubt they got it wrong. None the less it looks weird to me. I'll be more concerned if it still looks weird when it goes to color.
It's actually kind of spooky, how good the face sculpt is. Zoom in and it actually looks like Leonard Nimoy (who voiced the character), especially around the eyes and brow. Ironic that G1 MPs struggle to get a decent facesculpt but this does it so well - difference between having a high res source material vs basic 2D cartoons I guess.
We just got an update on the 4EVER Facebook page that the modelling is now complete with pictures of the finalised printed prototype and they’re now moving onto the ‘next stage.’ Hopefully that’s applying the paint. As long as there aren’t any huge hiccups, I think it’s fair to expect Sentinel to release before the end of the year or just as 2019 rolls in.
The latest news is that this is likely not coming any time soon if ever along with all other 4EVER products. Something to do with a ‘trade war’ with the USA screwing the factory up... Bad news for those interested in the line, extra bad news for any mug out there like me who paid a preorder for Sentinel under the assurance that it would secure them the cheapest price and priority in receiving it upon release. So as it’s been a fair bit over 180 days since I paid, unless Capcomkai is feeling extra generous, I can kiss that $230 bye bye forever. Yippee
Ooof. I'm sorry. I didn't even see a preorder for this guy yet. Also, no mention of the problem on the facebook account. Where did you get the news? Based off the last couple they've done, I would have figured we were at least 6 months away anyhow. Honestly, as much as these things cost I'd probably be ok stopping with Prime and Megatron anyhow. I presumably would have bought Blackout as well. I had no plans on getting Sentinal until I saw the painted one they had up (a 3d printer piece, not a more finished one).
Also, I didn't see your post here before. Based off how long Megatron took, this was probably very optimistic. I'd have to go dig up the megatron thread to see how long it was from when I first posted it to completion, but it was easily more than a year. In around 4 years they've managed to complete 2 figures (not including Scorponok or the ROTF revision on Prime).
Yeah I did think it was extremely ambitious when they told me Sentinel could be ready by Summer 2018. I whacked an extra 6 months onto my expected wait time instantly but Megatron was a good 2 year long process at least I believe. Capcomkai (not the official rep for 4EVER but in close contact with them) was taking preorders for Sentinel which he advertised on Facebook or IG so I figured I’d go for it. I like to pay in advance and then just have a figure appear months later as if from out of the blue. I was actually set to happily keep waiting till next summer for an actual release date for Sentinel but one of the recent IG responses made it sound very much like it’s become impossible for 4EVER to producing anything other than the two 3D printed models they’ve done and handed over to other painters. I enquire about a status update on Sentinel on most of Cap’s posts that are anything 4EVER or dmk related and when I finally got one it didn’t sound good at all. The figure must be ready if they’re selling individual customs painted copies but the company just can’t go into production which sucks. Now I need to decide if I wait for this ‘trade war’ to blow over or start badgering the guy for my money back.
