I add my name to the list of the impressed and echo all the superlatives heaped upon you from the past 7 pages of posts.
So where do you display him? That's asking for a lot of shelf space!:D

Here are a few more 1/16 figures (I'm sure Eddie's already aware)
But none can match the mighty devastator

    Thanks you guys! :)

This was/is actually a big (heh heh) problem. For a couple months I had him down in my make shift studio in the basement, scared and alone. Just last week I brought him up (because I need my workshop back) but I really have no room in my display/game room. I have to evict some other precious collectible to make room. :(  For now I posed him on the game room couch, but that's got to be temporary.

HAH! This will be the only one I make. I can't go through that again. It'd likely get me a divorce. :lol

I'd be lying, though, if I said I hadn't given them each some mildly serious thought.

Just out of curiosity, what would you use to make the other combiners? Does Bruder make anything besides construction toys?

    Thanks ya'll!

If they don't mind a toy they aren't allowed to touch. :lol

1:18th vehicles. I'd sub in better scaled vehicles for silly ones like space shuttle. RC vehicles are a good source also if necessary. I didn't do any serious planning, but like I said, I did give it a little thought.

OH LORD I'd be scared to see a child touching that poor thing. Just pose it outside his room, so whenever the young one walks out of his/her room, they see a big green and purple guardian :D

Wow that is bad ass! Great work!

You think you could do everyone a favor and send some of these pics to the artists at IDW so they have a better sense of scale when drawing combiners so they're not the size of skyscrapers?

I've gotten a few bruder construction vehicles from the thrift store for a few bucks and always though painted green theywould be perfect contructicons! I think the proportions, all of the work you put in, this imo is the BEST looking Devastator, this beats hasbro and all 3rd parties by a mile!

    Excellent work!

I mean, he's extremely sturdy, but the EVA parts I'd worry about with kids. Those parts could dent quite easily, or worse.

Thanks, man. It truly is nice to hear that it's appreciated. :)

    Thanks!

Yeah, I mean, being made of construction equipment that varies GREATLY in size, it is possible to have absolutely monstrous Devastators. Unfortunately, TFC is the only artist I've seen utilize the monstrous mining equipment required for a skyscraper sized Devastator. The comic artists (and sadly, most toy comps) are like "f$@# scale!".

But I'm a bit of scale accuracy whore. Even Bruderstator gives me twitches being 1:16th with my 1:18th collection. Fortunately, there's not that big of a discrepancy between the two scales. That and construction equipment can be acceptably larger.

Wow! seriously, thank you so much! I worked VERY hard to get the proportions right. I didn't want monstrous upper arms like most Devs. Didn't want gorilla length arms either. Most importantly, though, I didn't want the typical tiny waist (the reason it took me 6+ years to get this done).

Unlike the companies making Devastator sets, I didn't have to worry about any other modes being out of whack with each other. I had the good fortune of being able to focus on only the most important mode.

I have to give a LOT of credit to Maketoys. I drew most of my proportion inspiration from Giant. Upper torso to lower torso ratio. Leg length to torso ratio. Lots of other body part placement in relation to other parts.

Anyway, thanks. I'm glad someone else enjoys good proportions as much as I do. :)

Awesome, I just noticed the "CAT" CON Stickers (genius). I have been in love with this when I first saw it, I wish I can build one one day. Also 3D prints in that size look amazing. I'm not sure if I said this already but outstanding job.

I really like the dissembled photo you have that makes him look like a giant backdrop.
You need some more Cobra agents in that photo.
