Conflict of interest. You should not be voting as you work for the company you are voting for.

 

Looks like he specifically avoided the conflict. He didn't vote for MMC in any of the Company categories. Is he not allowed to like some of their figures?

 

He didn’t avoid anything. He’s allowed to like them just fine but he works for the company and on the figures he is voting for. It’s a question of professional integrity, not a fan thing. He financially benefits from MMC’s success and he is voting in a fan pole elevating their figures and influencing(even with just a vote).

I love his work(especially the recent submitted changes in Assaultua) but living in the professional world this is not something that would be allowed.

 

You may be placing way too much importance on this unofficial poll on a fan forum, not to mention the insignificant weight of a single vote.  

 

You are probably right. His job isn’t a real job and there aren’t people who decide to buy a figure based on how other fans view/rate that figure.

 

Man I didn't buy enough from this year to make an informed opinion on most of these categories. The vast majority of what I got was from stuff I missed in the past. Next year we might have to add movie style to the list given the sheer amount of releases in that category coming up.

LOL. I got into an altercation last time with another person "associated" by MMC. His definition of integrity is exactly opposite yours. Apparently shilling for the company without exposing monetary arrangement etc is his very definition of integrity. Such a world we live in.

 

Aza did not vote for his company in this poll so the conspiracy theory-like claims seem rather forced in their attempted application here.

It would also seem strange to forbid him from having his own opinion of which figures he liked best this year simply because he does color guidance work for a company. He is not a designer or company owner, so it would seem odd to force him out of casting a vote merely because he assists with the color selection on some figures. He's also open about his association, there's no integrity check failure here. Is he somehow less qualified to vote than the rest of us? Guilt by association? Jealousy? Forgive me the ad hominem observation, but it's rather conspicuous how the no-vote perspective is so far being pushed by two persons who tend to be more aggressively negative or antagonistic on this forum.

I would suggest you do some reading on conflict of interest laws and policies. That’s all the more I will say on the issue. It’s up to the poll takers to decide at this point. As for the ad hominem, if my stances against forced conformity to a scale or uninformed costing speculation by several in the fandom is aggressively negative and/or antagonistic...I guess I’m guilty. Otherwise I’m a pretty amiable guy. ;-)
