For all of you from Europe, I've just received news that for the third time they are going to hold a Convention in the Netherlands again. YEAH... I'm very happy about that, cause with this world wide economical recession going on, I won't have the ammount of money necessary to go to the BotCon or TFcon... Sadly, cause I've never been there before.

Anyway, from what I've read, they are going to hold it within a huge sport and event facility within the centre of the Netherlands. Now that's near my home. Although they say they've had to raise the prize of entry a bit, they are way cheap. And it's sponsored by Hasbro as well.

So for those Dutch, Europian Transformer fans, Check out their website. I'm surely going to be there. I still am looking for some Animated stuff myself.

    Sure. Here's the link.

    TF ConVersions - Home

I've copied and pasted a piece of the text from their site here for you.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally the time is there. After a long wait can we finally announce the details for TF ConVersions 2009.
    TF ConVersions
    Sunday June 14th 2009
    Merwestein, Nieuwegein

After the announcement of the date two weeks ago, the team has been busy to finalize everything. The team also received many diverse responses to our last news report. However, it were the positive responses, and foremost those regarding the location from last year, that allowed us the possibilities to reopen negotiations and come to a better agreement. Because of the positive responses, we have decided to once again hold our convention in Nieuwegein at the Merwestein Sport Complex.

After further negotiations, we have found a way to repress the ticket fees even further down. Thanks to the people from the Merwestein Complex, we have come to terms on the prices listed below. Parking at the Merwestein Sport- en Evenementencomplex is of course again free of charge.

€15.- - Tickets at the door
€12,50 - Tickets by presale via the online shop
    €10.- - Children aged 3 to 14 years
    Free - Children 0 to 3 years

People who already ordered their tickets, will be contacted in the coming week, and the difference will be returned.

The event will take place as before from 12.00 hrs until about 17.00 hrs. Many of the well-known items will be present again. Although some items may be repackaged. The biggest change will be the concept of the hub. Instead of seperate stands for various items, this year these will be interconnected with each other and flow over between them. A combination of Transformers information will stand united. Together we will see if the Hub can possibly find the answers to some of the questions you may have. There will be a panel about Kitbashing and how you can do it yourself. How you can maintain your Transformers toys and if possible how to repair them. Also the how to Draw Your Transformers art corners wil also be represented here. All the convenience in one centre spot.

The various activities will also be on hand. With the lottery many great and exclusive Transformers items can be won. Several Transformers Themed games will be played. Also the Jumpstarter Challenge will be ready for action. All of the prizes given away with these contests will be presented by Hasbro. A corner for the smaller fans (in a more subdued manner compaired to last year) where they can colour, draw and watch video will be present. And of course there will be a number of various stands where the hardcore fan can expand his/her collection.

If you want to signup as a (fan)dealer for the event sell items or you want to help during TF ConVersions. (This means from start to finish). Or you have a fun idea that we can use for the convention? Then you can contact Raymond Fransman by e-mail at raymond-t@tf-conversions.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or even better register to the forum and send a PM to Raymond T. The costs and rules for keeping a stand have remained unchanged.

We will see each other on June 14th in Nieuwegein.

I wish I could go to BotCon too, I mean... I've been hearing lot's about it for several years, but sadly it is much too expencive for me. Not to mention the Airline ticket I'd have to buy, the hotel... and if I'm not mistaking, I would need a visum to enter the States. That prize ticket in all is way too much for me... as I said, Sadly. :(

Interesting. I don't know how, but I've actually managed to miss this con completely. Maybe. Maybe one day, when I actually can afford to travel as well.

Why only go to Botcon, the more Conventions you can go to, the better? I'm guessing it's not that far from your house. Maybe 1,5 hour?

By the way, why do you say that your the only Dutch Botconner? It's not like your the only Dutch guy that has been to an Botcon.....

Awesome. Shame they didn't get a better location, but the previous one was nice and roomy anyways. :D

I think I might go there this year.

To be honest though, I've been to a couple of different themed conventions and I must say that it's really not my thing. I pretty much dislike the mood and the people...or maybe I'm just not hardcore enough?...sigh.

Guess it all pretty much depends on if I will be able to score some cool TFs I need by that time or not..

Nope, not true. When it's primarilly Dutch people crowded together, and so Dutch mindsets... I don't want to be there. Let's keep it at that.

Don't remember what triggered that. I'll change it one I have something else to put there.

Oh... there must be more fans from around here who've been at least ones to the BotCon or any other Transformers Convention outside of Europe. I can't imagine that this isn't so. Just glad to see there are more and more Conventions world wide being held every year to celebrate Transformers... and especially this year. WOW... 25 years of Transformers people. Not many toy lines can say that.

This year is special and lets all make it to the 30.
