Got an itch to do something 3D again, so I decided to make an "original" character. You should be able to see what it was based off of, but I'm making things a little different.

    Here's Apertron's (ăp'ər'trŏn') alt mode so far:

Still need to add a view details to the camera part, but I'm doing the robot parts now.

hehe yeah I'm probably gonna tone them down a bit, but it was in my plan all along. I'm going to have the lcd be detachable and either be a shield or just have it on his back. I also gave him an extra finger per hand so he wouldn't have to be Mr. Clamp all the time :D

    Why "Apertron"? After 'Aperture'?

I liked the idea of the name Cam-Ra ... but sure, go with Rapetron, or whatever.

    I kid, I kid.

Yeah it was the only camera related name I could think of that wasn't completely cheesy, like the Heman names Kickback and I came up with such as Shut-Tor, and Cam-Ra :D  Plus ones like Viewfinder, Rangefinder, Lensbot (lol), and such. Apertron seems to hold well as a name on its own without the camera reference.

Heh, when I first saw the thread title, I thought it was APE-r-tron, and was going to be some kind of evil Optimus Primal.

How about Sureshot? Lensflare? Viewport? Telephoto?

Sweet! It's coming along nicely. I like the name Snapshot, although I keep thinking Slapshot. I would change the blue though. Don't know if that's a final color or not but a metallic dark gray would be cool. Good job!

I changed the blue to be a bit more dynamic, but I think it needs to have some color in it to make for some contrast. Snapshot was another option, but I thought it was too hockey related :D

wow dude, what are you using to render that??

    that's amazing

proper rendering can make or brake any 3D model, and you've done a better job then anyone I've seen here
