Sorry to bring back an old thread but are the Jetfire sets still available?
I would like to know too, just got my jetfire.
Hi megamoonman. Have u got any plans to make upgrade pieces for g1 powermaster optimus prime/god ginrai and apex bomber. Plz reply. I really want me pmop to have additional articulation. Thanks. Plz reply.
The Fort Max hands are complete. Better guns, more detail all around. Rather than try to find a matching blue I just went black.
I also made some simple plugs for the screw holes in his crotch, those holes bugged me a lot.
I've put ramps on the back burner for now. The radar dish idea is changing up a bit, you can see it on his leg in the above pic. The hands/plugs kit is available now for $30, lead time is about a week due to the hours and hours it takes to make a set of hands.
And yes, everything else is still available. Always will be until the printer blows up, I run out of plastic or I just get sick of making them.
Do you have a Shapeways store?
How much would you think it would come out in total for a Jetfire filler set+ shipping to Israel?
No, and I have no plans to ever have one.
$16 USD. I've found cheaper shipping options.
Oh, well the parts are well designed but they're a bit low quality. That's my only complaint.
hey moon, any G1 Headmaster parts like Hoseheads ladder? or Nightbeats guns?
Ouch. Dude, you're hitting below the belt with a comment like that. You could've left it at the Shapeways thing.
I have his Jetfire filler kit, it's very well made, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Apologies. Perhaps I should be more specific. I was not referring to the design; they look awesome.
I was referring to printer quality. I like the designs and want the hands, but the printer detail seems a bit 'liney'.
You can try an acetone vapor bath. That's what I'm thinking of doing with the Metroplex Upgrade kit when I pick it up.
I can do virtually line-free prints - unfortunately the only way to get line-free prints means the parts takes 3-4 times as long to print. Right now a single hand takes about 3.5 hours of printer time at .2mm resolution. Multiply that by a factor of 3 or 4 and I'm no longer interested in selling them for a reasonable price. Tiny parts, sure I can try for the absolute best quality, but giant hands for giant toys, no.
Personally, I'll take some lines on the finish over a gritty sandpaper finish that costs at least twice as much as I charge from Shapeways. I've gotten a few things from shapeways before and I always get the same feeling when I handle them, which is ICK.
If the lines really bother, you can always give the parts a light sanding/polishing, or the vapor bath (that I still haven't experimented with).
Tell me more about this...vapour bath...
(Also sorry if I came across as rude. Your designs are great, but the lines have always been a problem with 3D printing for me)
Basically you heat acetone and suspend the parts in the vapor for a minute or so. If you do it right it smooths the lines completely flat, but it can be messy, easy to screw up, and slightly dangerous/toxic.
This might be too much work for too little reward, but have you considered a new attachment/terminal piece for the Metroplex ramps that will connect to the various Titans Return bases?
That would be easy, but they're already designed to all join together so why bother?
Have you try your knees on Fort Max??
Yeah, they don't add much.
would your briefcase work with TR brainstorm?
Separate names with a comma.
