    3D Printed Studio Series (Shapeways)
    Update May 16th, 2018

    Voyager Starscream Minigun

Starscream's minigun is one of his two distinctive weapons shown in the movie,
and it's weird that this figure has so many 5mm ports and only one accessory to use with.
Worry no longer, he now has his minigun!

Measures 4.4cm long, with a 5mm diameter peg. Can be mounted under-wing in jet mode.

    Voyager Starscream Backpack Boosters

    [IMG][IMG]

Another thing that Starscream is missing are his twin jet engines that were to
go onto his back. Now, I did a previous attempt to give DOTM deluxe Starscream
a backpack, but he's missing an all important 5mm port in the middle of his back,
which fortuitously SS Starscream does finally have.

Thus I'm glad to share this backpack booster upgrade for him! It consists of two
booster units joined to a central frame via ball joints, allowing them create poseability.

Additionally, I designed for these to peg onto his jet mode, storing away neatly under his F-22 thrusters.
Too bad they have to be parts formed due to transformation, but I think it could still work out.

    Leader Blackout Minigun

Leader Blackout is almost perfect. He really doesn't need much to improve what he is,
except maybe his hands (which I'm still looking at). Here's a minigun for him just in case
you still want to beef him up!

    The accessory measures 5cm long.

    [IMG][IMG]

There are two ways you can store the accessory in alt mode: together with Scorponok
acting as a rear turret, or on the 5mm peg on the top rear of his fuselage.

These look great can't wait for more. I could suggest a new pair of Ion blasters or hooks for Optimus or a non-cannon right arm for SS Megatron since it's connected by a detachable swivel joint.

It says these were tested in black high fed acrylate, but it isn’t one of the options. Is it not available in this form or is something wrong with my phone and computer?

No plans for those figures yet (partly also because I never bought them). Is there anything specific you're looking for?
I know Optimus needs his blaster...

    Thanks guys! :)

Symmetrical arms for Megatron sounds interesting. I wonder how that could be executed while incorporating transformation and all.

Unfortunately Shapeways just retired BHDA along with metallic plastic a couple of days ago. No you weren't wrong when you couldn't find it. :(

Bit of a long shot but it would be cool if you fashioned a way to the roof into a backpack?

That sucks! ☹️ What do you recommend in that case?

It's tricky to answer because it depends on what you want and whether you're willing to paint the models yourself.
For display and best appearance, I'll recommend Fine Detail Plastic. For play value and endurance, Versatile Plastic, or if you want to spend more coin, their Black Professional Plastic.

These are really cool. Will definitely have to pick up some of those thrusters for Starscream.

On a different note, have you thought about designing some sort of clip on chest cannon for Blackout? I dont think he ever actually fires it in the movie, but it does fold out a few times.

More tham just Blackout finally getting his minigun, I'm excited that there's a reasonably accurate, TF-compatible M134 out there now! Probably gonna get a dozen of those!

...somehow, though, the upgrade for Starscreech has made a flaw in him that I didn't have with him before. I originally didn't mind that his forearm sculpt was (wrongly) rotated 90 degrees, but now the presence of his M61 Vulcan highlights this because despite pegging into the right spot, it looks off because the whole arm being rotated puts it underneath the arm instead of on the side. But hey, it's not that big a deal - at least he has the M61 now.

    Awesome work! :thumb

  Are those new materials or did shapeways just rename FUD, WSF, BSF, etc.? Very confused.

Oh, sorry lol i meant to say about creating something that would fashion Stingers Roof into a backpack rather than an arm cannon?
