Pretty good d00d. However, the head seems a little vertically streched; makes the face look much too long.

It's a good start but I agree with Pete. His face kind of looks like that guy from Mask (with Cher).

The overall body is pretty snazzy, but the head just makes everything get out of proportion.

Has anyone got any reference pictures of Megatrons face (preferebly, front and side view)? Unfortunately i dont even own the toy, and have had to guess the proportions & shape of the whole model. Thank you.

Toy pics might not help you too much; the toy is considerably different from the animation/comic design. Your best bet is to Google for images of the comic version. If you do want toy pics, though, PM me; I'll send you mine.

Do what I did for my Megatron's face: Draw them. Believe me, it's so much easier than eye-balling and guestimating. And it's pretty easy since there isn't that much to draw other than the distinct features.

I will be drawing them, just could do with a little something that may help give me an idea of how long the face is and how wide the eyes are perhaps. Since i see you have done a 3d model of megatron yourself, if you still have that model...would it be possibel for you to do 2 quick renders of the front and side views of his head please? Thank you.

    sure thing, pal.

Oh, I used standard human reference points when it came getting the proportions of where things should lie on the face and only exaggerated where necessary and appropriate. btw, do you have AIM?

I'm online right now and if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to help.

Just PM with your screen name.

Masterpiece Megatron is coming out this month I believe. The face is pretty dang good. Do a google search for him. Unfortunately, not too many different pics or angles. Should help a bit though. Better yet, buy one when it comes out.

The thing about G1 Megatron's face is that IMO, nobody has ever gotten it spot on in the 3D world. It's just a hard thing to interpret from 2D to 3D. I think weewoo and makotron had really good versions a while back but I haven't seen anything lately that even comes close.

*edit* Here was my attempt a while back. The lips definitely didn't turn out right.
