Yeah, I thought I'd see if I could get a robot mode of G1 Megs that looked a little more intense without changing the design of the p38 pistol...so far, so good (IMO).

    Some notes -
    1) The face is not perfect - it's a temp.
    2) The texturing is far from done.
    3) The basic modelling of the upper body is done; just need to add some detail.
    4) Haven't started the legs yet (obviously)

So, here's what I have so far:

Comments and crits are encouraged. Not to feed the ego, but to make the model better.

He looks quite thin, but that is the challenge of trying to make it work for both modes.

    Good work so far.

Looks great, I like what you've done with the arms.
The muzzle should be attached to his back, but it looks cool either way. :thumb
Awesome job so far, can't wait to see it complete!

Ah, you son of a....! I've actually been doing something very similar, though I haven't done much with the robot mode yet. The entire Alt mode is done. Good luck to you on this model, because G1 Megs is an enigma in itself, let alone trying to make him look kick ass. Look forward to seeing more, Scott!

    UPDATE - I don't know why that's all caps...

Basic modelling (except for updating the face) and texturing done. Still need some fine tuning, mainly to the textures. Here ya go -

Not bad considering how difficult it is to thicken G1 Megs without resorting to some slight scale increases along the x-axes for the arms and legs.

In terms of the Walther P-38, there seem to be lots of minor tweaks that could be made to more accurately reflect the gun mode. I'm not sure exactly what model you were going for, the Megatron toy, or the real gun itself as there are discrepancies between those two.

For myself, I'm using photos of an actual Walther P-38 and am also referencing the UNCLE configuration from The Man From UNLCE tv show. If you'd like I could send you some decent sized reference pics.

I know it screws up the gun mode, but I pesonally think the lower part of the legs should be wider. It seems out of proportion to me, but I know that's just how it works out. On the other hand, those spindly legs are almost creepy...
