Works been coming along slowly on this one but I've finally figured out a transformation scheme that lets me keep the whole interior intact. The final product will look a little different from the original takara designs, namely the method of the roof folding up and I dont know how the hood of the bug was supposed to work in those pics. Also the proportions of the head and arms seemed a little ambitious (it's a tight squeeze in there..), but every thing else should wind up pretty close.

Looking sharp for an early WIP. If you don't mind, could you post some wireframe renders? I'm curious to see how you go about distributing your polies.

That is looking pretty darn awesome. Please, please animate that for us! I totally want to see the transformation.

    questions:

Do the arms, legs, hood, whatever change shape or size at all from one form to another? I've been studying the cartoons, especially beast wars, and they bend and stretch quite a bit between forms. Also, parts appear or disapear. Like hands or heads.

Are you going to rig him so you can animate him in both forms? Would he be able to do a sequence where he's going along as a car, transforms, and then go's into a run?

Where's he going to put his gun? Or does that appear out of nowhere like the cartoons?
