This might well be the first non-transforming Transformer I end up getting. It looks incredible and I love Blitzwing's design, and I doubt we'll get anything even remotely close to this in a transforming toy, Studio Series or MPM. This will make for a totally badass display piece on my work desk!
As much as I am not a fan of non transforming transformers. This will be an exception. Fucking gorgeous.
Can anyone shed light on how these pre-orders work? I've had the Last Knight Optimus on pre-order with BBTS for like two years now. BBTS requires a non-refundable deposit for these pre-orders. I like this but not sure I want to tie up funds again for a pre-order that is years out from being fulfilled.
i don't really have any experience with leds in high end figures, does any one know roughly how long they last?
This looks excellent. Can't wait for the inevitable Optimus that they no doubt will be doing. Always loved how their Transformers stuff looked but it was so far out of the price range I was willing to pay - this is right in my sweet spot for high end stuff (as in right around the price of 1/6 stuff like Hot Toys)
Not calling this character Starscream is a bigger travesty than anything Bay & Co. ever did. This character model is clearly Starscream. No two shakes about it. My guess is the decisions they made in the movie dictated he not be named Starscream. If, and that's a big 'if', I purchase this figure, it will be Starscream on my shelf. Its lovely.
I agree. I can also see them doing a Blitzwing version for the mainline SS while Starscream can be an exclusive likely coming with another character from Bumblebee such as Cliffjumper.
Yeah. And also every other seeker. Huh. Just did a check and yeah you’re right. Dude! Spoiler tag! I dunno. It seems skywarp is becoming the exclusive now. I’d much rather have it that way.
but deosnt the front landing gear have two wheels side by side? so including the rear landing gear thats 4 ?
I can’t stop drooling over this thing! Such a good seeker design. I wish he had been named Ramjet, but I guess you can call it whatever you want, right? I’m sure there is a good legal reason why they did that, but it’s been longer since the Ramjet name was used. Oh well! CALL IT POWERGLIDE FOR ALL I CARE, JUST GIMME ONE!
Of course Spoiler because he died and was discarded fairly quickly, they didn't want to call him Starscream. But it's clear that they designed him to be another basic seeker in the same vein and then slapped the name Blitzwing onto him after the fact. Either way though, he looks cool as hell and his part in the movie was really fun. Their seeker design in general is fantastic, no matter which head is on top. I just wish he wasn't "Blitzwing." Blitzwing is too cool a con to be a random nameless seeker. Some other decepticon jet name like Skyquake would have been more fitting. Especially since both this guy and Prime Skyquake were Decepticon jets with red highlights who arrived to earth before the rest of the cons Spoiler and were both killed by Bumblebee soon after their introductions. Since he went unnamed in this movie, they could easily just have a more authentic looking triple-changing Blitzwing show up in a future movie, have someone refer to him once by name on screen, and suddenly this guy in Bumblebee wouldn't be Blitzwing anymore with no on-screen contradictions whatsoever. In the end though, this was a really cool part in the movie with a really cool bot and I want 3A's figure of him, no matter what he's called.
See I’ve always thought he should’ve been redwing instead. He’s a very unknown character that not many care about and his colouring would work well since F-4 phantoms where known to be predominantly red. Ooh. Good point. Blitzwing is one of the more believable triple changers of the bunch.
Yeah there are plenty of other names they could have gone with, Redwing would be fine too. Skyquake was just one suggestion. I'd even be okay with Ramjet like Jerrimus suggested. They have a dozen random seeker clone names to choose from and for some reason they go with Blitzwing, one that is not a seeker clone at all. Puzzling choice.
