In another thread Trailbreaker77 had a good idea for a poll. If you own a 360, have you ever needed to get it repaired/replaced?

3 Times, and one close call.... I sold it before it got worst. My Halo edition hasn't had issues, but then I don't play it often enough to know if it would should I be slamming it.

red ring of death twice for me, finally sold the third one before it went kaput and bought a gaming PC instead.

Microsoft paid to fix them all though, so no biggy, but still annoying.

I have one of the old ones and its still working. The key is to only play it about twice a year.

Three times for me -and no I don't care.

Too many good times on the system and it hasn't cost me a dime to repair one system.

Mine got the red rings 3 months after I bought it. They sent me a different one, over 2 years now, haven't had any trouble yet.

RRoD first, graphic failure second. On my third, but I can't bad-mouth the system. It's just too much fun and too many game I still have to play.

    Yes.
First one I returned to the shop and got a replacement, then that one was acting up a little bit when GTA4 was released so swapped it for a Elite.

I baby the shit out of my Halo edition. It's cleaner than my PS3. And I talk good about it... Not MS, but the system, so it knows I care about it. I want Star Ocean to last when I buy it.

Graphics card went over a year ago. Barely touched it since. The disc drive isn't sounding so good anymore. Not sure what I will get hit with next. RRoD or a failed disc drive.

Stronger man than me, Smasher. I had a Dell laptop that kept over heating sent it to Dell 3 times to get fixed.... well they didn't fix shit. I so went office space on that piece of shit. If the roles were reversed and the PS3 had that failure rate I would be and 360 man. I didn't accept Dell's excuses for building a laptop that wouldn't work for more than 2 days I expect the same out of all my electronics.

I'm on my 3rd 360 after 2 RRoD's. First one lasted almost 2 years, second barely a year. This one's doing alright right now, except that once in a while the discs seem to spin loudly.

Had mine since Christmas 07, no RROD.
It gets used at least a few hours a day, more at weekends.
Only problem so far is it struggles to read The Orange Box and Left 4 Dead sometimes.
Looking forward to MS replacing it free of charge when it does die.

The question I still have is, fun or not, great games or not, even if the good outwieghs the bad, how could they have the technology to fix the problem in newer systems, but when you send yours in , they don't replace your system's components with the new hardware to avoid you sending it in again in 2 months? That's not a repair, free or not, that's like a passive repair, especially if they know how to permanently get rid of the problem as is supposedly evident by the new systems.

    You are?

    Yeah, is that strange?
I mean, its almost 2 years old. Its got to be close to death.

I assure you that enthusiasm would be gone if it dies a day after the 3 year cover ends :lol

Red ring twice, disc tray failure twice, GPU once. I treat it like a god too, just bad luck I guess. Had them since launch.
