Well there can be only one legit Optimus Prime to hold the title G1 incarnate. It looks like TT got it finally on the third try. Kudos. I for one can't wait to see official images. So for Xmas, my wish is to have that preorder up so I can make payments. I really wish these transformers store websites would allow a payment plan, whereby one could make payments a couple of times per month until the preorder payment was paid in full. That way I could build up the money paid online, not only guaranteeing one for me, but also paying it down easily. Tho, a part of me is wondering if I shouldnt wait till a second run is done. The first releases usually have QC issues.

 

Go with Amazon Japan and you can buy gift cards whenever you want and apply them to your order. Set up your own payment plan that way  

 

I have been considering this too--I've never had any major QC issues but almost all of my MPs are second run or later. Does anyone have experience comparing first runs with later ones?

 

There's tons of comparisons on these forums. Truth of the matter is nobody will know whether the 2nd run will be of better quality. You can argue that the more recent MP's 2nd runs were of better quality that addressed chrome and paint issues, tolerances, etc. MP-9 even made mold changes in the 2nd run (v2) to address certain tolerances. But not all 2nd runs were winners. MP-8 became a floppy mess in later runs. MP-11SW had some questionable colour changes....Just to name a few. Your best tactic is wait for reviews and allow for enough feedback of the figure to know whether there are any issues to be concerned about. Then make your choice. If the first run is sold out by then, no biggie. You can still find it after market or wait for 2nd run.

You can save money monthly by making deposits at the bank or storing it in another safe place! I think either of those options has the same effect as a payment plan.

Also still waiting for color photos. As good as it looks, I, for one, will not buy it if it doesn't have white thighs.

 

Too tempting to use it. I find making a payment solidifies the saving up, and forces me to better accept the purchase.
