Totally colorbashing this Magazine shot over the weekend. Can't wait to upload it. Should look sweet.

And yes, prime had bellbottoms. It was the early 80s. Still in fashion. Three's company anyone? Anyhow. Robots look cool with bellbottoms. Check out the GP02 from Gundam Stardust memory, one of my favorite bot designs ever! A nuke bazooka and shield. Fricking fantastic!

This thing just looks insanely good. Of course, I’m the kind of guy who loves mp-36, and make no apologies for considering it the definitive mp version of Megs... so take my opinions and tastes with the appropriate amount of salt you require— :D . But seriously, how can folks still hate this figure?? I’ll join the price complaints when it ends up costing 400$+ or whatever, but as an Optimus figure— Just look at that articulation, the proportions.. the head sculpt. Wow.

I'm actually most impressed by the picture taken from his back; such a majestic stance.

Bad taste or envy. I can get not wanting v3 Prime but there is no denying the frightening screen accuracy or impressive articulation. I don't want v3 Prime myself as it crosses the line to a level of slavish accuracy that I don't want to see in from any media that originated in the 80s. I still want that release to do well though as that means more cash for HasTak to work on an MP I'll want in the future (v2 Grimlock and Rodimus plz).

    "Haters" crying?

I don't hate it. Does anyone "hate" it? I think it looks really cool from the front.

These new pics have helped me decide I can live without it though. That backpack is just too big, and I've never been a fan of Transformers that turn inside out and have faux parts in both modes.

"Hate" is an awfully strong word for people that decide they don't need or want a toy. Transfandom is serious business I guess. More like religious fanaticism.

"Oh you don't want to replace your perfectly good MP Optimus with the new one that's gonna cost $350??"

I'm no 'hater' I quite like OP V3, prefer a fair few thing about him over MP-10 in fact, however I've looked at him, weighed up what i consider the pros and cons thus far and (for now) I'm unsure I'l get one. I'm clearly interested otherwise I wouldn't have gone the the trouble of trying to 'fix' him with my pathetic photoshop skills below. Now if he looked more like the guy on the left I'd be more willing to part with my money, for now...I'm just not sure yet.

Seems like physics are physics and the big backpack is the price of all the other benefits of this figure. Surely if you want a hyper toon accurate MP Prime that wouldn't stop you buying this guy? Wouldn't stop me.

Looking at some of those poses in Figure King this guy has incredible articulation and while I'm still unsure on him, I think once the colour pics come out people will want this guy badly, even with a high price.

Funny people are saying the animation episodes are full of animation errors. Yes they are but this figure is based on the animation model/control art that said animators had to reference from. The control art isn't full of errors, some of the episodes are depending on which studio was animating at the time.

Wonder what the deal is with the pin at the rear of his blaster

Screen Shot 2018-08-25 at 01.45.55.png Screen Shot 2018-08-25 at 01.45.39.png

Maybe the large handle folds up into the body of the gun? That would actually allow him to wield his gun from the second handle like the G1 toy, without the main handle getting in the way.

That would be a damn nice touch :thumb

It also looks like the gun can fold in half

Yup, we've known that for a while now.

With the gun being able to fold in half, and the longer handle being able to fold up into the main section, wouldn't it be great if it could store somewhere on his body? Or in his backpack, even?

The rear pin could also be for sealing the back.end of the fun. There are screws on the side, but if the larger back section is a separate piece, the pin could just be there to keep it tight. I've seen it on other things, so who knows.
