This makes ALL the difference in the world. I HATE stickers on my bots, and as stupid as this may sound, it is the #1 reason I stopped collecting 3P. I will get some of them still, like XTB's Stunticons (Their Menasor looks SOOOO SUNBOW G1, IS INSANE!) because I'm a Menasor whore. But for me, "IMO" stickers have no place on MP figures.

Hell, Arcadia charges $150 more for their "tampoed" versions on their valks, and they sell out in seconds.

It was the #1 reason I was never 100% in love with MP-29. This fixes it, it seems.

 

Yeah I see where you're coming from. + releases from MP-22 onwards should probably denote toy accuracy, since that was the definite shift to toon accuracy, right? MP-29 was a funny one because it wasn't the most common colouring in the cartoon, the bigger eye is reminiscent of the famous 'are all dead' conic cover and the toy, not of his toon appearance.

They could've easily labelled 29+ a toy repaint (with a different shade as Prime135 says) and not even bothered redoing the eye, but I'm grateful they did and also happy we're finally getting toon tampos on a darker Shockwave. Thrilled actually!

Definitely made more confusing by his simultaneous announcement with 36+.

This new Prime with a yellow-eyed toy accurate head masterpiecerized like 36+'s though? YUM. Give him silver biceps, orange-tinted windows, tampos, autobot insignia on both shoulders, a nice purple-blue, and a purple-blue roller too! If 36+ can come with his stock and silencer, Prime + can come with his trailer still, right? With all the beautiful colours in the interior that the original toy had.
Damn, that'd even go well with Diaclone reboot collections.

 

Sounds about right, and vice versa for the 'toon redecos for MP-numbers designated before. I'm only really waiting on MP-20 Wheejack to get his lighter grey and brighter green, tbh. Maybe Soundwave too ...I mean, not much point of a toy-accurate MP-13 with yellow visor, for example, when Hasbro already did it.

Pale blue screen, white thighs/forearms/face plate and dark grey feet however ....?

I'm not sure how much you can retool Soundwave to improve accuracy though. Seems pretty on as it is.

Wouldn't be surprised if we got a modified Soundwave or a whole new one at this point.

 

It's been 4 days since this new MP Prime was sort of shown and already looks outdated, so hopefully there will be a V4 announcement soon so that we don't even have to deal with that archaic looking lego block that can probably only do 90% of the idiotic yoga poses that people seemingly require in their robot articulation. What a piece of shit.

 

i really doubt we will get a new mold for soundwave as what we already got is not that bad but cartoon repaint i reckon is on the cards at somepoint in the near future

Maybe it was lazy for the cartoon to omit stuff like Infernos ladder or Prime's wheels. But it's not lazy for MPs to replicate them. In fact, it's more challenging. That's what make the figures MP worthy.

It's hard to tell because we got haters literally calling it a "****" and doubled down the comment.

 

More like characters like that would rate better than the + treatment if the situation came up. I think if Blaster is announced there will be no 13+ announced. Then in a couple of years they most likely will announce a retooled or new Soundwave. Same way we have never gotten a Plus Starscream, Bee , or Prime. Or why they probably aren't going to ever reissue Mp8 or MP9 again. those characters are popular enough on their own they would just do a new version. Just my theory from when they released Megatron they reissued all of those versus releasing a + version whey they had ample opportunity.

 

There's no problem with Mp-13. It is a nice figure.

The #1 reason it will happen?

The imminent Blaster. There is enough reason to believe he will be made, and it will make MP-13 look like an outdated brick.

And Soundwave being as iconic as Megatron or even Prime (on the same level of Starscream, I's day) it is silly to believe it will not happen.

But rest assured that the option not to buy it will always be there.

I'm for the Soundwave 13+ having some retooling.

Give him the complete red arm bracelets Soundblaster has, revise the chest door, turn all silver to white.
Increase headsize by 10%, remold knees & make feet integrate better. (the legs have the design flaw of that cracking hinge, so clean that up)
Remove the detailing on his back. I don't see why it would be hard to throw in a small ab crunch also.

Soundwave needs about as much work as they put in on Starscream to turn into Thrust, he's still a brilliant mold so I don't feel a V2 is all that necessary but he could really blossom via some minor tweaks.
Soundwave is surely the second best selling MP of all time? Extend the life of the milk...
I'd sell my minty first edition and take the bait.
