These are three figures I am happy to go with Hasbro for. Kup is WAY too shiny for a start. he should be dull and scuffed if anything. Perceptor actually has LESS chrome than the RTS version (although his vehicle mode is slightly improved). Wreck Gar...meh. If the United version had completely done away with the 'cheap grey plastic' then I would have jumped on it. As it is, the paint apps are nicer overall, but not so nice that I need both versions and I already have the Hasbro one on pre-order.
Also, Blurr is too blue. Yes yes, I know he's supposed to be blue, but the two shades used on him seem to merge and he loses a lot of his detail as a result. Besides, I'm extremely happy with the Generations version i already have.

 

Can't wait to get these.

 

I've got Blurr and Wreck-Gar on pre-order. I prefer Generations Blurr, truthfully, but I haven't been able to find him at all, so this is my backup. United Wreck-Gar's different enough from the RTS version that I can mod one of them into a generic Junkion with minimal effort.

The shiny paint on Kup just feels wrong though, IMO. And I don't really like it on Perceptor, either. I do like the silver trim on the vehicle mode, helps it look not so bland. But I actually miss the clear yellow parts from the RTS version. The trim will be easy to paint, so Hasbro all the way on those two.

 

These shiney decos just look so blah. At least Drift had extra details, but it's like they're not even trying. (save painted hubcaps, but taht's so hit-and-miss) Perceptor actually looks worse, lacking the almost chrome-like silver of the American one. I don't see much difference in Wreck-Gar though, but I can't remember what the Generations one looks like.

 

I must say that apart from Perceptor other figures are not better than their Generations/RtS counterparts. In fact, Blur and Wreckgar are worse. United Perceptor is the only one looking better that the Gen/RtS version.

 

really not too into how shiny the united figures are. I have the japanese animated Rodimus and all that paint really makes me nervous when handling him. I do like all the painted details (rear lights and whatnot) that hasbro refuses to paint.

 

Wreck-gar and Blurr look too dull.

Kup should not be shiny. No.

All are easy passes as I don't like the molds.

 

Sergeant Shiny-pecs and Blue-rr look pretty good. Perceptor's not havin' a good day, though. First he loses his chrome and now Wreck Gar's trying to offline him.

Anyway, I'm a little ticked off that I can't tell what color Perceptors eyes are. Until I know if they're blue or not I'm sticking to the American version and all it's chromeativity.

 

I have united kup on preorder, now Im not so sure, I might keep him on and get a generations one as well to scuff up and place with my Wreckers.

At least Kup has his rims painted!

 

Man, I just pulled up a RTS Perceptor in vehicle mode... it looks like a KO next to United.

 

Aside from Perceptor, I really don't like them. What's with all this pearlescent paint crap? They did this with the Animated line as well. Usually I always give the edge to Takara, but lately, I am really liking the Hasbro versions better.

 

Kup is probably the worst of the 3 version so far, metallic/shiny paint don't suit him. For Perceptor I'll wait for comparison shot, Hasbro have chrome (if it was not a photoshop trick), and United don't have ugly clear yellow windows. Blurr isn't even out in retail around here  redface2  but I prefer the Hasbro version so far.

 

I love that Perceptor has lost the chrome. His pieces are now more inline with the way I remember him being colored in the cartoon and his abdomen is colored to match as well.

Plus, that colorless clear plastic is way more appealing than the yellow.
