Sideshow's ROTF Optimus Prime Maquette Preorder goes live on the Sideshow site Thursday night between 6PM and 7PM.

The price has now been revealed at $1,199.99.

As with most Sideshow pieces, there appears to be a very limited Exclusive version, only available on their site. This will include additional switch-out Energon Swords for alternate display and will have an edition size of just 100 pieces worldwide. This should sell out fairly quickly, regardless of the high price.

I feel like crying. I was really hoping that wasn't going to top $1,000. I need money.

    Nothing I can afford anyhow.

But I am curious, are these things statues, or articulated?

It looks a lot like a statue, except that the arms appear in slightly different poses with the fists vs blades vs guns.

That is the WORST pose they could possibly have made.

Agreed. I hate the pose too.

Also, the price is steep, but it is the most movie accurate since SideShow used the original 3D models that the ILM animators used to create the CGI for the movie, and it is the best physical representation of movie Prime that is out there so far. The metallic Blue and Red paint can be the really deal breaker or deal maker for this piece depending on how it turns out though.

Like "tristiang" and "sideshowfreak aka The Monster" said on the SideShow Forum, (para phrasing), the only way this thing could have been better at its size was if it was made of aluminum sheet metal, and had electronics for lights and spoke to us in Peter Cullen's voice, but it also would cost thousands of dollars more.

Indeed. It looks like he's trying to tiptoe around or something.

They should have gone with "I'll take you all on" or one of his spinning attacks from the Forest Fight for the pose.

Aside from the pose, it is an impressive statue.

I would borrow money if Hasbro relased Constructicon collectibles, like Mixmaster for instance..

Lackluster pose and absolutely unjustifiable price makes this a definate no-go. I'd pay $400 MAX for this.
