I use the picture from megatroptimus's review post, we can see how humongous its backback is.

It has to to lean on something to stand.

I found 3 easy steps to make this a much better toy, just remove these 3 pieces as shown in the pictures

    1) top part of the back pack, which is the end of the StarDestoryer. This is easy, just pull it off, which is the way in the original package.

    2) the funky triangle shape cape, which is used as a support during robot mode.

    3) the back-pack which forms the Republic Cruiser's bridge.

To remove 2) and 3), u need a hammer and a small nail, just hammer the little metal poles that inside the red circle here for step 2) and 3). Once the pole is out a little, then u can just pull it.

There are some wire from the backpack 3), which can be tuck into the back, and remember keep the little plastic button facing out, thus the sound is kept, as shown here. In my opinion, it actually gives the toy more science-fiction feeling.

Now the transformation is now complete. As you can see, it's much better shape, the only backpack is holding the 3 AAA batteries, and it's not big at all, the toy still has all the sound and light effects.

With a pleasant surprise, the funky triangle shape cape actually is a very decent shield than the default cake like shield, as shown here:

After the change, the articulation is better too

Of course it can still transform, as shown below, just 2 little poles are removed, it still holds itself very well

I think the best part is, after the modification, all the removed accessories and backpack pieces now can form the StarDestroyer, while the robot mode is a more decent figure already. ( I added the cape myself. :D )

I have a feeling the more parts you remove the better it gets. I removed all of them and it is so much better now.

On a side note, the figure is a bit empty once you remove it's everything. You can fill it in by adding a spare Death Star Vader to the nothing. Then it really rocks.
