This is an excellent thread, but are there also animation clips where they transform ?

Man, your Bumblebee rocks, and puts mine to shame. I modeled mine last year, and it doesn't even transform, or have the jetpack. Anyways, out of your models, I love the altmode for your BB. Its perfectly done. And you got BB's head right, which I failed with. Amazing job dude. :thumb

Iacon, i do not have clips of them transforming. i have not even done the transformations yet. perhaps soon.

Really great job there with Rodimus. :D  Car mode rocks, and the proportions for the robot mode are really good. :thumb  By the way, about how to get an object to glow, which is inside another object. I tried it out, but didn't work using normal glow method. There is a similiar effect I got to worked before, accidentally. Basically, you need Final Gathering on, and just give the object inside a Constant material. No glow needed. Then when it renders out, it should have a glow effect. Check out my shockwave render on my DA page. Thats how I got it to work.

Are you using Final Gathering on your current renders?

I second that question. Is this program free? And how long does it take to make these guys? Is it easy or mind-numbingly hard?

I use XSI Softimage 5.0. Not sure how you can get it for free but i'm sure there's a way.

my very first character took me 4 months to do. currently it is taking me about a week to do each model. and that means fully modeling it, texturing it, and rigging it. animating them would take me a few days more.

I think it's challenging but it definitley is not mind-numbingly hard. though i guess when you have a passion for something, it never seems that bad.

Another amazing job! Jet mode is rocking. And you made the robot mode cooler than the toys. :thumb  Its a tough job to actually make TF models able to transform, since you have to spend extra time modeling the Alt mode, which is basically a second model. As well as to set it up, so it can transform properly into both modes. Having done alot of models like that, I can see how much work you've done for your model here, and the previous ones. :)  By the way, you should make new threads for each new model, otherwise, I'll be one of the only few people replying all the time. :lol
