Even great pics don't make him look better. :(

The jet mode is too broken up in addition to having too much bot kibble and I can't dig the proportions on the robot mode.

My least favorite movie toy so far.

Sweet. Looks like there's a war going on between those 2 sellers, they're both selling the transforming cell phone too.

I was to bid on SS but noticed he doesn't come with missiles... I guess I can wait some more...

I am still waiting for all the pics to load up but he is obviously more brown like the Protoform than the first auction showed, and it has a bottom alt mode kibble picture...

Still waiting for the pics to load. But if anyone can make something look good, SPX can.

EDIT: Jet mode looks pretty good. Kibble isn't as bad on the underside as it first looked.

EDIT 2: Wow. Robot mode looks a LOT better in this pic. I can buy this as Starscream.

You can see his claws - they're like BM Thrust's, only the guns on the hands are bigger.

And... is that a missile storage that can evoke a NULL RAY???

    Thank you Hasbro.

    Such unflattering poses. :lol

Cool to see the little flip-up gun sights, though.

Notice how the chickenlegs are fully extended in this shot too.

And gunsights? Wow - didn't think of that. Figured they held the missiles for storage. Fits Starscream though.

And as for the head - I saw this pointed out on another site, but the second red streak evokes a smile - kinda like Ultron's mouth in design. THAT fits Starscream.

Poor guy shot his eye out.

I find it ironic that they went with this design for the movie starscream due to the fact that it makes his proportions accurate between robot mode and vehicle mode and yet, for the toy, those very fears of disproportionate modes are realized. There's so much junk hanging off of the bottom of that F-22 that it's ridiculous!

EDIT: I'm still hoping we see masterpiece-grade versions of these movie characters. A Masterpiece movie Prime would be fantastic.

I dunno what hit me... I just had to digibash him! :)  My first digibash, so be gentle...

The design is a great hommage to the now-20 years old Horrorcon Apeface. Add a little pilot in Spasma colors, and I'll be happy! :D

But it's never gonna work as Starscream.

That reminds me of Energon Starscream. Those colors are fit for the movie.

So is the whole red thing on his face like battle damage then, or am I totally missing something?

Intentional damage meant to devalue the product. Wanted to get this reply in before you got some Napoleon Dynamite-ish "GOSH, don't you KNOW!?" response.

It's such a mess, it'd need a lot of work now to take what works from this, i.e. that cool looking jet and make it transform into a decent looking toy robot.

I'm kind of mixed. I like it but then again I don't compared to some recent jet based Transformers. I kind of like Bot Mode but then again I don't really feal it. I'll still get it either way just because I love jetformers.

Also they should have just used that one mold from one of the beast shows for the movie. The one they repainted into Universe Skywarp - that seems like it would have fit into the movie pretty well.

I was writting this for the other thread, so it has some quotes from there.... I hope I'm not breaking any rules with the crossposting of quotes, but I figure since the topic is the same....

    Here it goes:

    Oh ......

    OK..... that's .... huh.... :(

Pros: somehow, be it because I've gotten used to the idea, or because it actually looks better, this test shot's robot mode looks better to me than the previous proto leak.

Cons: but it still looks bad as a Starscream. And to top it all off, this is the first movie toy we've seen (excluding Scorponok) whose alt mode fails to deliver on the 'real world' setting of the movie. That 'robot kibble' on the plane looks simply awful ... and I was counting on at least having good vehicles modes this time around. Whoever said Energon Starscream and Machine Wars Megatron/Megaplex work better as F-22 was right!

SPX's pics do make it look better ... but my complaint about the robot kibble stays.

As much as I dislike movie-toy-Starscream's alt mode, I'd guess in the actual movie, the alt mode will be realistic and make flight possible.

Hehe... and I thought I was an optimist.

A toy test shot doesn't affect how bad or good the movie can be.

Well ... that's what all movie transformers are.
