I don't see the big deal, it's just another KO on ebay - but at least he isn't passing it off as original. In case you haven't noticed the trend in the past few months, "Encore" or "reissue" are being used all over the place to sell KOs. It's innacurate, but it's a way to get around the rules ebay set up. Just search the site, there are many many more listed just like this. It's nothing new.
You have a point,its nothing new.... ...but I wish E-bay would enforce the rules about passing fake K.O.'s for Encore figures but I dont see that happening anytime soon.
I agree, but what's making this particular auction any different than the others? Why was this one chosen to make a thread out of? Maybe it's because it wasn't known that this is a current sales trend/technique - which is why I made my initial post. It's nothing new to sell KOs with the Encore tag on it, they've been doing it for months. I'm not saying it's right, but I don't think this particular auction is any worse or better than the dozens of others doing the same thing.
no clue but if i had to wager a guess but its possible that this one was brought up as it is is a known KO mold and has never been in the Encore line. I partly blame Ebay for what seems like an increase in selling Kos as legit due to there policy to not allot Kos but mostly I blame those who knowingly selling selling something as a G1 or inthis case Encore when they know it isn't
You'll also see "Encore" used on KOs of Scourge, Dinobots, Wheeljack, and Sunstreaker. At least this guy isn't trying to pass it off as an original G1, it could be worse.
very true they have and its likely only a matter of time before the Springer and Octane Kos are being passed off as G1s as all the others you have named have been already and some scumbags will do anything to get as much money as possible
