I think the Wiki entry did mention that some would turn into weapons (in my mind, a la Movieverse Frenzy). The 40 count might include robots like that robotic bug Sam pulls apart in the teaser. It's possible the Arcee bots might be counted as three, not one. *shrug* There are plenty in the movie already. More is better, but it'll be good regardless
I'm really interested to see if the protoforms we saw in the trailer are going to be actual characters (Aircraft carrier ones, Egypt ones, France ones). There were a lot of protoforms, so I wonder if they'll be characters, or just generic robots.

Arcee counts for one bro, the three is her ability to split and merge back together. And Devastator is made up of 6 guys
How sure are you on that? Remember, we DID get a leaked Amazon Japan toy listing for a "Chromia", one of the well known fembots who was BLUE, and just like the only leaked female transformer bike toy we've see, it was BLUE. And yeah, hooray someone is wrong on the internet! Sorry but that "7" was from an old list before we knew the final numbers on Devy.
