So, my sister gave me this as a gift awhile back and I've kept it sealed. Thinking, maybe one day it will be valuable. I'm not usually like that. In fact, this is the only Transformer that I own that is MISB. But I'm getting kind of tempted to open it.

Do you think it will appreciate in value? Or should I rip that bitch out of the package and play with it???

well with its pinkish red color and short smoke stacks I doubt it will gain that much value. Besides it will never obtain the Value of a MISB of a real G1 OP

Leave it sealed. If you keep it that way long enough, eventually the toxic degrading plastic fumes will turn to PURE GOLD, and then you'll be even more happy you never played with your toy.

    OPEN IT!!!

    Depends...

If you already have a G1 Prime that's opened... Then keep it MISB.

If you don't... Open it and enjoy.

I would actually keep it sealed. It is actually a pretty impressive display piece MISB, and opening it will only lead to disapointment IMO. It isn't the best remake of him, and has a bunch of pieces that arn't too exciting (DVD, comic, voice box), but they actually have them layed out quite nicely in the box. I would wait and pick up a better representation of him (if you don't already have one) such as the Encore version, or even the TRU short stack one from earlier.

Leave it sealed. It maximises it's potential to be used as a paperweight or a bookend.

As opposed to what it was intended for.

    :lol [IMG]:lol

Open it (carefully), check it out/transform it or whatever, and when yer done put it back. It drops form MISB and turns into MIB. Big deal.

I bought mine for $70. By the time I got around to opening it, they were going for around $50 on Amazon. Reverse-appreciation.

Its a super-neat figure to play with (even if you already have a G1 prime opened.....the talking autobot thing, comic and slightly different shade of plastic on both the cab and trailer make it worth having both opened). On the same token, I doubt its ever going to be an heirloom.

I opened mine, but put him back in the box, purely because I use it as a display with my other figures. That and I love having the sealed comic, DVD, and sound box with it. The artwork rocks.

I've decided to keep mine Sealed. I don't want to risk the chrome. Plus, with the no-spring-launcher that came with Perceptor, (WTF, Hasbro?) I doubt Optimus would be a different case.

I'm not a MISB person, but it's one of the few items where I've felt it has a stronger feel in the box than as a loose toy. I've got other G1 Prime toys to fiddle with, so that's a factor for me.

I am not a min collector but this is one figure to keep in the box as others have been saying. If you really want a fun G1 prime to take out of the box then I recommend new year's convoy. Definetly the best version of the original mold.

Transformers need to be taken out of the box to be transformed, since you need to appreciate both modes.
