I dont know if this was done/changed to the US release but Cybertron.ca members are also reporting that the Prime released at Canadian retail also has the proper darker "cherry" red rather then the pinkish red that they used for the US release.

Also just to remind people that the Canadian release does not include the DVD either and possibly the comic as well.

I just got mine from wally for 30. Sucks to hear about cheaper at target... oh well. My wife had never seen g1 before and she keeps saying "ThunderCracker" sounds like the Villain of a 70's blaxploitation film.

"Yo we gotsta stop thunderCracker before he steals the wold supply of FUNK!"

I would totally watch that movie. wow I get off topic easily.

Because, logically, it takes an extra three months to make it across the border.

Dammit! I keep reading all these wonderful stories of dirt cheap Primes and all the ones around here are on "clearance" for full price! :/

Deeper red, huh? I kinda like the semi peach/pink on the US version. Helps the sucker stand out from the other one million versions of that toy. XD

I got Optimus for $30 at Target and returned it the next day. It just didn't look good. I don't think I would buy it for less either.

    Congrats Canadians!

I was actually about to go out and buy one on clearance at Fred Meyer for $35 but now that i hear they are cheaper elsewhere I don't know what to do. I know Target stuff goes pretty quick when they hit clearance so not even sure I'd find one.

I scored it today... for $69... and it really, really wasn't worth it. I've take his fists and Roller and given them to my Generation 2 Optimus Prime.

The Canadian one is exactly the same color as the US one. Same crappy weird peach pink red color. The box is really different though. There is no flap like the US version, so the comic is now placed inside the box. No DVD. The box is thinner so the cab is facing straight forward instead of being angled like the US release. Overall the US package is much nicer, so if you plan on keeping this guy MISB, I suggest getting the American one.

too bad about no dvd. ive got the old episodes anyway, but it kinda makes paying 70 dollars not seem worth it all.
i'll probably get him anyway, since i missed out on the original g1 prime as a child (my first prime was the powermaster).
